How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

3 night stay at trafalgar house was lovely. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Breakfast was fantastic. My husband even had scrambled eggs and salmon. Neil the host was very friendly.

Pity we weren't staying longer.
Trafalgar House is operated to a very high standard. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Attentive service Convenient quiet location. On site parking. Amongst the best of B&B accommodation that we have stayed in.

Everything was great!
We had an amazing stay at Trafalgar House. Neil is a fantastic host, kind and thoughtful. He give us a lot of tips to enjoy the area. Breakfast is absolutely fabulous! Clean rooms and handy parking at the back.

The breakfast choices were many and generous. The house-made marmalade is so good that we bought a jar on leaving! Trafalgar House is located in a very quiet area that's just a few minutes walk from busy Torquay shopping center but you can take the long way past Torre Abbey and amble along the sea front.

Bathroom just slightly bigger and a little more power in the shower but not enough to not go back again was overall a lovely stay.
A beautiful Victorian villa set in a tree lined street, that was really homely with a very pretty garden. The breakfast was really delicious with lots to choose from. Really clean and beautifully kept. Neil was really helpful with tips of where to go, but my highlight was Millie the boxer she was so beautiful and had the softest coat ever!

The house is a beautiful Victorian property. It was beautifully decorated and had a warm, homely feel. It is very clean and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of options to choose from.

The breakfast was excellent quality, made with quality products and great presentation. There was plenty to eat with different choices of fruits, cereals and hot food for all tastes. Breakfast is eaten in a pleasant dining room with a delightful view of the garden. Great hosts and we had an enjoyable, relaxing stay.

Don't think there was nothing that we didn't like about the place at all.
The owner, Neil, was very helpful and made us feel very welcome, and the food was excellent would go back there again. Nothing was too much them.

It was quite a walk down to the sea and a steep hill coming back up, but not the fault of the hotel! Also parking in Torquay was difficult.
Trafalgar House was beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming, with everything pristine in the room. The lounge and dining room were of the same standard and the breakfast excellent. Neil and Noom could not have been more attentive or helpful. Would definitely go back.

The breakfast was amazing - a lot to choose from and the homemade marmalade and jams was very tasty. The room was spotless and well equipped. Tea coffee and fresh water daily. Didn't feel like a B & B, it felt more like visiting friends

Trafalgar House was a real homely place for our stay. Quiet location and a lovely garden to sit in and chill. Neil our host was great. Oh and for me, the full English Breakfast, 10 out of 10.

Everything was lovely so clean and pretty the bedroom was a good size, plenty of storage hair dryer in room and tea/coffee. Loved the pretty garden so lovely and peaceful. Neil was really nice welcoming and very helpful breakfast was amazing eggs Benedict were the best I’ve had! There was also onsite parking which was great.
