How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room was a little dated and could do with a refresh . Service was slow for breakfast although it was lovely and freshly cooked . Door lock was difficult to open door with . I mentioned this to the lady on the front desk when checking out and she was going to let the maintenance man know
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and the hotel was in a perfect location

We didn't know the bar, cafe and restaurant would be closed during our stay. Was just a shame, but didn't spoil our trip or anything.
Lovely comfortable apartments, great value for money.

Please sort the front door lock, really a struggle to get in and out the apartment.
Nice place to stay and plenty room in the Apartment and quiet area too.

we had an upgraded room but it was dated and what I assume was a spare bed looked out of place, just a little tired looking. Maybe looking at the photos online, the other rooms are different. Also ordered a veggie breakfast and forgot the veggie sausages, just egg, beans and tomatoes, so a bit disappointing.

The apartment could have been a little cleaner, cobwebs! The mugs were stained & the tea cloth smelled. Rustling in the night could have been a mouse in the bathroom, holes in the back of the radiator
Supper in the bar was really good, check in was good but the best part of the whole place was Nicole. What a lovely girl, running around doing everything with a cheerful smile. Very comfortable bed. Nice touch leaving out cereal.

The meal in the evening was superb. The apartment was great. It had everything we needed. Manager was very attentive. Parking was outside our door. Will stay again if in the area.

The public areas & bedroom were classic but a little tired. Bedding was blankets & a heavy cover!
Perfect central location. Some private parking and both the hotel & Tourist Info offered us a parking disc for the controlled areas. Helpful friendly staff. Good choices for breakfast, and both the full breakfast and the haddock were very good.

car park is tight if you have a large vehicle
Food exceeded our expectations. Excellent and interesting wine list with the added bonus of a wine shop! Room was larger than expected, clean and comfortable. Staff and host were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic.

only thing that we really didn’t like was plastic table cloth in the restaurant when paying £25 for lamb I would really expect nice table linen. Quite a long wait at breakfast from taking the order to actually getting the food.
Great location.Our particular room was very spacious with seating area. Host was very welcoming.

The car park had very little space when we arrived and I was worried of blocking the way for others. However it might be different at less busy times.
Excellent location and great to have your own dedicated flat. Kitchen was really well equipped. The flat was very comfy and has its own entrance.

Decor of room was very dated obviously in need of refurb but would need to try and also retain the history if possible
Breakfast was satisfactory but not as the menu with missing black pudding with no explanation or excuse although was ample overall without it so no complaint from us.

We were in room 11, the hallway is a bit gloomy which could be easily improved with warm white light bulbs and a new pain colour. The curtains in the bedroom were poor, it would be nice to see some lined curtains that are more appropriate fir the space and let in less light.
Great location on market square. Lovely old hotel that has been partially renovated. It’s a bit quirky and nit super posh but all the nicer for that. Lovely staff and breakfast was great. My husband very happy with his kipper and home made jam.

Pressure was poor on the shower
Comfortable, well equipped apartment. Milk in the fridge was a welcomed added extra after a 6 hour drive.
