Service here is always amazing. Meals are lovely and freshly cooked. The location is beautiful and the outdoor pool is lovely and warm. A day here is like a weeks holiday somewhere else. Looking forward to returning.

No hot water for a morning shower!

Beautiful location. Large grand comfortable country house hotel. Large bedroom a d bathroom. Crisp white bedding on a comfortable bed with huge soft pillows Staff were lovely nothing too much trouble for them

There was a noise coming from under the roof over night, which disturbed our sleep. It would have been nice to have some fresh milk in the fridge. The bathroom taps were not working very well, and there was no fan in the bathroom. The room was in the upper part of the building, so there were a lot of eaves restricting the ceiling height. As we are both tall, a lower level room would have been more comfortable for us.

Room was very nice, spacious comfortable. Large bathroom with toiletries supplied. Biscuits and beverages available in room, and replenished by turn down service. The gardens are lovely and extensive, even in February, and worth exploring.

Disappointing breakfast. Husband asked for a full English but got a veggie one instead. When they changed it, only the sausage was changed and no black pudding. It was also cold. Him being him, didn’t want to complain (as I was already half way through b eating mine!) but disappointing nevertheless.

The dial for the shower was too stiff and hard to turn.

The grounds and the hotel were beautiful. I especially liked the library bar. The food was excellent.

The restaurant staff need more training. Waited ages to be served, had to ask for things several times over. The wine is very very expensive and comes in a pot luck glass size from tiny to small, even odd glasses in the dining room on a pre set table = sloppy attention to detail when you’re paying top end prices. Our waitress was quite rude at dinner. Furniture in the lounge in need of repair, chairs frayed on the arms.

We did love the food at the restaurant but I think it is overpriced and the waiting time was a bit too long between each course.

The location and the building itself (outside and inside). The indoor swimming pool was perfect in December! The grounds are stunning, and several walks are available. The staff working there were so kind and helpful.

We booked this hotel because it was dog friendly and we also called the hotel to double check. At which point we've been told that we are welcomed in the lounge area but not the restaurant, and that we can also eat in the lounge area. When we got there we found out that we can stay with the dog only in our room or outside, so we couldn't enjoy the hotel and we had to stick to the room service menu which was very average.

We were in a garden room which was a long walk through the rain to reach the main hotel. As a result we did not use the main areas except for meals.

Room was too warm. We had windows open, fan on and we adjusted control on radiator. Our room was in the courtyard. Better that than too cold.
