Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWhilst this is to be expected in a city centre hotel the room was a tad on the small side. There was very little room at the foot of the bed next to the TV on the wall. Given the location it was very noisy until the early hours. We went in knowing this so not a problem for us but if you're hoping for a quiet night's sleep this may not be the area for you. There was an issue with hot water on the morning of our check out which wasn't fully resolved by the time we left the staff handled it brilliantly.
Room was very stylish, with modern facilities and the huge TV was a great touch. Staff were great, gave us a free prosecco on arrival. Location is fantastic, right at the head of the party capital of Manchester. Good selection of eateries etc nearby (Pollen is highly recommended!).

United KingdomThe only slight downside was the lighting. There were a few different settings for it, which were a good idea for different moods - but none of them seemed to give just bedside lighting, so that one of us could have a light on to the side of us, without disturbing the other.
The bed was huge and really comfortable. The toiletries in the shower smelled amazing! And we were offered a glass of Prosecco each when we checked in, which got our night away off to a perfect start.

United KingdomTV did not work but did not know this till the morning when came to put it on. No picture and no back on remote control. We had chosen to have the continental breakfast that is brought to your room so asked that the charge for that be dropped seeing as this wasn't working. Prior to booking was told would be greeted with glass of prosecco but was told on arrival that they had run out. Feel they should have enough to accommodate the number of guests staying there.
Stayed in a suite. Comfy bed and toiletries. Mood lighting. Lounge area overlooking the canal. Good hairdryer. When I made the booking I mentioned that it was my husband's 60th birthday and on entering the room there was a tray of chocolates and rose on the bed with a note wishing him a pleasant stay for his birthday which I thought was a nice touch.
