No t.v in the bedroom, yet another who paid on the exact deal on booking.com got a t.v. It's pretty standard to have one these days, even a tiny cheap box TV.

There were not enough staff provided to man the bar at times. I did approach someone who, when this was pointed out, was very off hand and he made excuses about staff being used elsewhere. There was also an issue about noise from the kitchen late at night. However overall the staff were very good.

The staff on the catering were very good and helpful and friendly.

The staff were really friendly and helpful; the property was stunning and very relaxing and on top of that you're helping the Guide Association maintain both the property and grounds for young people to have an adventure - well worth the £35 B+B. Travelling alone I really appreciated chatting with receptionist and the staff - everyone had time. Would definitely recommend this wonderful property.

Bathroom was unpleasant and smelled damp. Extractor fan didn't work well. It was done in a plastic finish all over, which looked cheap and dated. Just made using the bathroom area a not very nice experience.

There was no food onsite only breakfast, I would have preferred not to have had to go out again in the evening to eat, which due to location meant I had to drive. There were however some good pubs only a short drive, who did evening meals.

The location was lovely, away from it all, but at the same time not too far to my business meeting. I would normally expect to pay far more for the view from my room down to the river and the surrounding countryside.

Room cramped, layout poor. Felt like being in a caravan especially the en-suite! Ok for small person. Floors very squeeky. My colleague's room next door was much nicer and more to my expectation. It did the job for one night, but I wouldn't pay more than the £35 we paid each for single room.

Big house with lawns running down to river bank and view over hills made this a great get-away-from-the-hustle location. Enjoyed sitting out in garden during a summer evening. Really friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.

Jenet who was on reception was an excellent ambassador for Waddow Hall and the charity, gave me lots of information and history knowledge of the Hall plus reading matter. Nothing was to much trouble and all this came with the most incredible smile. The room was imacculate & beds very comfortable. Breakfast was better than some 5* establishments have stayed in. Then last but not least the views of the rolling country side were breathtaking, lots of places to walk and get lost in the scenic vista. Clitheroe was a short taxi ride away. FABULOUS

As you had to go out every evening for a meal the entry could be improved. If driving there were about a dozen deep pot holes in the driveway to be avoided if you did not wish to ruin your suspension. If walking there was a cattle grid to cross (at the risk of a broken ankle) and no side pedestrian gateway to make entry and exit safer.

Bedroom had nice view but was very small and a bit tatty, It was part of the former servants' quarters on the second floor, up steep stairs. No TV in room. Beds small and basic.

Waddow Hall is the HQ of the guides, catering for girl guides, other activity-focused groups, and a few private bookings. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the views from the bedroom across river to Clitheroe Castle were great. Breakfast was a reasonably good Continental - fruit, cereals, cheese, lovely ham, jams, yoghurts... Good price. Comfortable lounge with TV
