Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The Room and the Bath were very cozy, spotless clean and very well equipped. Always great to have a tea kettle in the Room! Nice towels (folded perfectly!) wonderful mattress. The staff (3 Ladies) was so kind! We arrived a bit late by train (takes 10-15 min walking Station to Pub) and they managed that we could still have diner in the nice and historical pub. It was delicious! I had (Italians, be warned! 😂) Ravioli Vodka and they were delicious. My Partner had the catch of the day, also great. We would definitely return!

FranceNothing to dislike!
We had a lovely welcome, shown to our room, which was cosy and comfy. Large shower cubicle. The pub is beautiful. Dinner was excellent, good value and so was breakfast. Buffet breakfast and you pre order if you want something cooked. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. We had free parking on the street over night and had to leave by 11am. We also enjoyed having a lie in as breakfast was served till 10.30

United KingdomOur room was adjacent to the fan outlets which ran all night and were very loud. We’d happily stay at the Wagon & Horses again but request a room at the front of the building.
Clean, friendly and in a great location. The staff were great and the food very good; we enjoyed our evening meal there.

FranceLovely building and decor, great bar area. We were greeted with warmth and kindness from the minute we arrived, this theme continued to the minute we left. We travelled with our dogs and a hidden bonus was the field at the back of the property where they could exercise safely. Finally the breakfast…..simply fabulous! We will be back.

United KingdomSince our first visit to the Wagon & Horses during the pandemic period, the hotel appears to have changed ownership twice, but we were pleased to see that it was still as good. We like the location overlooking the River Lune and a short walk into the town (there’s a footpath just behind the Maritime Museum, which you can follow up to the Castle and then into the town centre); the comfortable rooms and cozy ambience; the superb breakfast; and friendly, approachable staff. We recommend the bar-restaurant: we enjoyed an excellent and reasonably priced Sunday roast in the evening, after we arrived. A small tip: If you arrive after 15.00, there are some parking places directly in front of the hotel, which are free until 11.00am the next morning.

United KingdomAn extra knife at breakfast would be useful for toast. The room was smaller than we usually stay in but was perfectly adequate.
Lovely welcome, great breakfast, easy parking, good location. We had keys so we could come and go as we pleased. Good shower, plenty of sockets, kettle, tea, coffee etc in the room.

United KingdomThe only problem was in the bathroom, the soap dispenser was too high up the wall if having a bath. Great if having a shower though.
On arriving we where welcomed by a lovely staff member who showed us to our room, and the explained how to get back in if late at night, and that the room may get hot, nice touch supplying a fan. Room was great big enough for our requirements, a nice bathroom, both looking over the river. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great choice of cereals etc and our cooked breakfasts arrived piping hot the full English was enjoyed by myself and the eggs Benedict by the other half they kept us full till the afternoon. Really appreciated ordering the breakfast on arrival and the time we required it, the lady who served us was a delight. The really hot water was also great.
