Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

MaltaBathroom extremely small, can hardly sit on the toilet, set very close to wall with toilet paper holder and towel rail in your face. I informed the receptionist that the bathroom mirror light does not switch off; he told me he will get the technical people but by the time we left, the mirror light was still on! (Room 215). Asked the chamber maid to fill up the body lotion, promised us to do so but it just fell on deaf ears!
Location was good, central but not too crowded.

United KingdomRoom 115 was very small and darkened by opaque glass. Most likely because there was a bad view. There was a generator of some sort just under the window outside which was humming all night long. Foyer very basic and coffee area had a very noisy fan heater which wasn't really that warm.
Staff pleasant and hotel ok. Foyer basic but ok. Room 115 bathroom was fine. Breakfast was good although difficult to find the tea and coffee!

United KingdomUnable to turn off air conditioner unit. When we managed to turn it off, it would automatically come back on, which would make the room either too hot or too cold.
Very comfortable bed. Enough room for a couple. A good selection of hot drink options in the room is a nice touch, instead of the standard usual options you get. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Appreciate it’s an older building but 106 had creaky uneven floors. Would benefit from USB plugs next to bed too (picky, but even budget hotels do this)

United KingdomThe receptionist on arrival was abrupt and just Contuinwd to talk fast telling me I had a problem with my booking and had doubled booked and I needed to phine booking.com when I showered her I only had one confirmation she was just phone booking.com and would provide me with another reference I phoned booking company and they said there was only one booking she then was just dossmive my whole stay we were in the bar meeting the rest of our party later on that evening and she came through shouting across the bar area for the 2 bar tenders it was really rude and unprofessional. The bathroom is so small it’s just uncomfortable to be in, we all paid same For our rooms But 2 had fridges and other 5 didn’t air Con wouldn’t come on so the room Was permanently to hot

United KingdomOnly thing was the other guests who stayed opposite our room were very loud shouting and slamming there door at 4.15am. But this is nothing to do with the hotel just one of those things.
The room and bathroom was clean. The bed was so very comfy. The staff were lovely and very kind to my son who was staying in the local hospital. I’ve stayed in lots of hotels but this is by far the best.
