We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomTV was faulty and day of no reception during stay - but staff did their best to sort it out. Also breakfast staff could be a little more proactive in ensuring hot breakfast turins did not run out as plated breakfast nearly cold whilst waiting for one item to come through.

United KingdomOur room was in the 'Cottages?', room 9, up a narrow steep stairway with very narrow stair treads. It needed some care going up and down.
On arrival day we arrived too early to check in. We then went on to a family wedding, but didn't get back to the hotel until quite late. This caused no problems, and we were well looked after. At breakfast the staff catered for our family plus friends meeting up for some time. Again no problem and well looked after.

United KingdomBreakfast was awful, they forgot to bring coffee only brought tea. Had to wait for ages to be served despite not being very busy, then had to wait ages for the breakfast that came out Luke warm. We ordered scrambled egg and smoked salmon with toast, the egg was like rubber the toast was burnt on one half and then not cooked on the other half. Toast hadn’t been buttered, glad that we didn’t have dinner there. Worst breakfast we’ve had in a hotel by far.
Nice hotel and perfect location for us to visit family.

United KingdomWe didn't like the location of our room because it was out of the main building in one of the cottages. Not good if its raining even though only a short walk. The room was cold when we got there 3.30pm. The reception said the heating would come on at 5pm. When we came back to our room at 9.30pm the heating still wasn't on so I rang reception & she sent the supervisor to our room. The radiator was electric & wasn't even turned on. We didn't see the controls on the radiator due to being low down on the side of the radiator plus there are no ceiling lights only table lamps so it was difficult to see them. It took quite a while for the room to get warm.
Lovely main building & we really liked the Shelley function suite with chandeliers. Good variety of drinks on offered at the bar. Nice & bright breakfast room with a good choice of food. Ample parking spaces. Lovely grounds. Hotel within a short walking distance into Retford Town.

United KingdomThe only thing I could fault was there weren't many plug sockets, they were all under the dressing table. Could do with some on each side of the bed.
The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable. You have everything you need, mini toiletries, tea, coffee, and biscuits. Iron, board, hangers, and a safe in the wardrobe. Nice clean and soft towels. Everything you could need.

We stay here on a regular basis when visiting family in Retford as we live in Surrey. Facilities are great, and the team are friendly, courteous and helpful as always. We had an issue which was swiftly resolved as soon as we brought it to the attention of the receptionist, which ensured our stay continued to be a pleasant experience. Thank you Team as always.

United KingdomThe staff were friendly but for breakfast (which was very tasty!) the staff disappeared after bringing out food. Would have loved a 2nd cup of tea and coffee but no one around after initial serving. Other than that the restaurant was good and our stay very relaxed.
Lovely, comfortable hotel, with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Our hotel room looked out onto the gardens, which were beautiful. Perfect spot for an early start in centreparcs where we were meeting family.

United KingdomI made a last-minute booking and received a warm and friendly welcome from Reception when I arrived. My room was warm, clean and very comfortable and I had 2 great nights' sleep. Dinner in the almost-empty restaurant was generally good - the food was tasty and well-presented and the staff very helpful. Excellent sticky toffee pudding!

United KingdomThis was only a flying visit en route from Newcastle to the South Coast so we didn’t make much use of any facilities. I would say that the TV was rather dated but we didn’t watch it!
Convenient location for overnight stay. Very secure. Everything there that we needed, including a welcome bath. The location of the mirror, lighting and hair drier was well thought out which is a rarity these days in hotel bedrooms.

The first thing that caught my attention was the exceptionally comfortable bed – it felt like sleeping on a cloud! Additionally, the room was kept wonderfully warm, creating a cozy atmosphere throughout our stay. One aspect that stood out to me was the impeccable accessibility of the showroom. Everything was well-placed and easy to reach, making my stay and my mums hassle-free. Moreover, I appreciated the cleanliness and tidiness of the entire establishment. Overall, our stay at best western retford was nothing short of fantastic, and I look forward to returning in the future.
