How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There's nothing I didn't like the place great.
The place was fantastic and the owners where brilliant we are booking again. Would recommend coming here.

Very friendly and welcoming. Room comfortable with spacious en suite. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Easy to find directions from Google Maps. Good location in village and close drive to amenities.

The location was quiet and peaceful, making our stay very relaxing. We had a cooked breakfast which was very filling. The hosts were amazing, warm and friendly. The room was cosy with a large walk in shower. There was ample parking.

The poor weather .
The friendliness of the owners, the nice comfortable room & the lovely area, so peaceful and quiet. It was perfect for walking, great footpaths straight from the front door.

Would have liked a few more coffee sachets as I don't drink tea!
Everything was great from the comfort and cleanliness to the kindliness of the host! They were even able to advise about my walk to Blandford Forum. A very pleasant stay!

We didn't like leaving.
We were very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was very clean and spotless. Our room was cleaned and restored every day. The breakfast could not have been more delicious. Lots of choices and good quality. Thoroughly recommended. What a lovely family!!

Tight parking. Allergic to pet dander, so stayed away from pets (dog/cat).
Good breakfast. Very friendly, helpful hostess. Roomy room and comfortable bed. Lovely woodland terrace! Charming village with quaint homes.

Nothing to dislike apart from the British weather!
Lovely setting, home from home feel, we felt very welcome. The breakfast was amazing! Very clean and tidy, good-sized room, and comfy bed. The bathroom was also spotless, large, and well equipped. Would highly recommend a stay here. It's definitely worth a visit just to try the breakfast. Thank you, it was just what we needed :)

The chalet was clean with a covered veranda to sit on overlooking the garden. it was peaceful and a lovely place to sit. The village was really interesting and the local area easy to explore.

Accessible bathroom was created by someone who knew what them were doing, not just ticking boxes. Breakfast was good, timed to suit our day and really good fresh fruit. Space on the patio looked out into peaceful woodland and the very friendly dog and cats were happy to share.

The location was peaceful and very relaxing. Close proximity of many local villages. The breakfast was very extensive and fresh in choice. The hosts were friendly and helpful if asked a question. The room was comfortable and very welcoming.

This is somewhere your really need to try , you will not be disappointed , the owners John and Aliya are such nice people and very , very helpful . The room was perfect spotlessly clean , also the little touches are always appreciated , the quality biscuits by the tea and coffee , the fridge and the chocolates all lovely touches. The balcony was an added bonus and we spent time sitting out there which was very nice listening to the water feature and the owl hooting in the distance was an added bonus. Breakfast the next morning was lovely , cooked fresh and again nothing was too much trouble for Aliya , all in all a very lovely place to stay and we will be returning at some stage , many thanks to you both .

Nothing. Everything was great. Would stay again.
Breakfast was very good. Location lovely, only disappointment was the only pub didn’t serve food in the evenings so you had to travel.
