Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The menu choice for dinner was a bit limited.

We were very happy with the whole experience. We particularly enjoyed the French ambience and decor. There was nothing we didn't like. Staff were very welcoming and provided for all our needs.
Breakfast excellent quality with wide choice and very well cooked. Location was close to town centre, but set back from the road, so very quiet.

Friendly welcome and because my grandson was not feeling well the owner opened up the rooms early. The room was large, e;egant and comfortable with a good shower room. The high spot was eating dinner in the restaurant. Our previous experiences in Scotland had not been great but the restaurant here is something to marvel at and enjoy. Yann is an excellent chef and the food I eat deliciously cooked, with good choicw of wines and a magnificent cheese plate to follow. Highly recommended.

That we didn’t get to stay longer!
We booked our stay as we needed a halfway point on our journey from Orkney to London. We wanted to have dinner in the hotel as we knew we would be tired and we wanted a family room with a separate space for our 12 year old. Yann’s guest house delivered all of this and exceeded our expectations. The dinner was excellent- many compliments to the chef! - and the staff bent over backwards helping us find something for our picky pre-teen. The breakfast was really good too. Top quality ingredients and the chocolate crepes were a hit! The room was really clean, comfortable and quiet. We felt completely safe in regards to Covid. Crieff is well positioned between Loch Lomond National Park and the Cairngorms. The town of Crieff is cute with lots of independent boutiques and cafes. We would definitely like to come back on our next trip to Scotland and stay at Yann’s for longer than one night.

We were made welcome straight away, the staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem for them. Food was great and it became clear with non residents too which created a great atmosphere. there's ample safe parking to front of property. We would definitely return to yanns

Clean, quirky spacious and clean again because that’s super high on my list. Owners are amazing hosts and everything was perfect from the minute we arrived till Shari waved us off. Food was excellent and so was service.

Was there with elderly mum and it was all uphill back from the town centre so a bit of a struggle for us. Now we know that we would just take the car down if we stayed again.

The wash hand basin had no hot water. The shower head fixture was broken, would not stay in position and kept dropping down towards the back wall.
Beautiful character building very tastefully decorated with a distinct French influence! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was very busy but managed to fit us in on a early sitting, the food was very good and the service was excellent! We needed to head off early in the morning so Yann rustled up a couple of breakfast rolls to take with us - thank you. Private parking was also great for our motorbike.

The bedroom was very hot at night but it was hot weather so not complaining.
I had a light breakfast but the choice was great and my partner said his food was excellent. Yann provided an early breakfast for us as I had a run to get to and this was very much appreciated.
