Forgot that Youth Hostels can be over taken by exuberant youngsters who don't realise there are other guests. No late evening staff to help implement rules.

The location was excellent once we realised there was a good bus service.

Rooms could have been a little bit more spacious for 5 people with luggage to stay.

The location was lovely, along with the view from the top.

Bathroom didn't have a window and the fan was switched off for some reason (we figured how to tun it on, but didn't help much) so the water on the floor from the shower never dried up. Under the beds was really dirty (kid dropped a toy so we had to get it from there). Breakfast and check out was a bit of a disaster - we waited around 10 minutes to be checked out and paid for cooked breakfast but then it turned out there were no eggs left and the staff seemed resulctat to cook more because it was close to the breakfast finish time.

Clean beds, check-in was efficient, great price, it felt safe.

Breakfast food was running out and not always replenished. Milk was curdled. Otherwise fine for the price.

Good location on the outskirts of Bath there is a bus stop on the road outside also its possible to park for free on the same road I had a twin room that was quite comfortable and spacious, it was at the top of a staircase so may be awkward to get to for people who have a lot of luggage The self catering area included cooking facilities and a large lounge area Check in was easy due to the friendly stay Good value for money

Youth hostel prices are on par with b and b's hotels especially with no breakfast included. Prices penalise single parents. No cooking facilities. Especially when 2 of the combine ovens are being used for over 40 minutes for 1 dinner it holds everyone up. Room was cold as heating seemed to not work well. , Access to room was tricky especially at night for the bathroom for someone with fibromyalgia on very narrow spiral staircase. Access was not discussed. Considerable noise beyond midnight from room above. Could have done with more facility to hang belongings.

Room was clean, large with handy sink. Beds were comfy dining room and building is impressive and handy to join bath skyline walk and walk into bath centre. .

Lack of on-site parking makes it harder. Room and toilets were not as clean, and ensuite is veeery different from advertised (very small and curtain in the shower instead of the good looking bathroom in the pictures)

    Facilities, location.

Some of the guests are pretty inconsiderate, i.e. make noise, use a lot of perfume, leave a mess in the kitchen, let their kids play in the kitchen. Some of the male guests also act like they are on Tinder. I really liked the fact that the hostel was warm and dry even when there was a storm however one of the ladies in my dorm was really unhappy about it. I think she was going through the menopause and was getting hot flushes, I am about the same age she was and I am going through the menopause myself but I'm pretty much symptom free. One evening I got so wet climbing up the hill (with a stream of water rolling down the street) that my clothes and my bag had not finished drying the next morning so I think heating the place was necessary to avoid getting mould.

There is a beautiful view from the hostel and I met some very nice ladies at breakfast and ended up staying in touch with them. The hostel was dry and warm even though there was a storm when I was staying there: some of the trees around the hostel had to be pruned!

Food service was a bit slow especially for full english breakfast. They don’t refill the foods on the tray so once consumed then you can no longer have it unless you are willing to wait.

The property and overall stay was good. Many toilets available so no need to queue. Property was clean as well and on prime location if you like walking on the skyline.

the position is perhaps not great, but this is the compromise with the price. I went with two friends and we arrived late-ish, so the walk up hill was very very dark, barely any light, I think this should be something to look into. the walk down in the morning tough was very nice as you could have the view of the city in front of you.

the room, bathrooms and all of the rest was very clean. the property in general is very nice, in the lobby there are some tables, board games.
