Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Parking is public, it was ok to find (in mid September) but might be challenging in other times of the year

All fine tho we needed to take care on the spiral staircase but it wouldn’t put us off returning (in our mid sixties with creaky knees!)

Our only criticism is there is no designated parking, so made it a little difficult with our hire car to find parking close by.
Perfect size apartment, stunning location and walking distance to absolutely everything in the Old Port. The owners were amazing and very helpful with everything we needed during our stay. The apartment it self had everything you could need and with daily cleaning. Will definitely stay here again!

Great location and friendly host. Nice and quiet apartment, despite being in the heart of old town. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and quiet flat.

Everything was great.
The accommodation was excellent: spacious, comfortable, well located in the Old Town, quiet, everything you could want from it, was great. Thank you for the bottled water and beer in the fridge. We will certainly return.

Sitting in what we consider the very best area of Chania this apartment is an excellent choice of accommodation.. There is public parking only 3 minutes walk away yet the property is within the beautiful old town.. Yiannis the owner is very welcoming and will provide all the information needed to enjoy this lovely area.. Everything we needed was provided inside this apartment.. The old building and been beautifully renovated to a fairly high standard.. The air conditioning and WiFi are in good working order.. Being in such a good position within Chania old Town it is easy to walk around the whole area.. There are many restaurants, shops and the old harbour area very close by.. The area is quiet with no loud annoying music or any other disturbances.. We really enjoyed our stay here.. I highly recommend this apartment to other travellers !!!

We loved the location and the apartment is in a beautiful old historic building which offered us all the home comforts that we needed. Our friendly host Nikos made us feel welcome. It is a very clean and comfortable apartment and has a lovely bedroom with access to the roof patio.

There was nothing we didn’t like!
The location was peaceful, but conveniently right in the old part of town. The terrace was perfect for breakfast and evening drinks. We had everything we needed for comfortable self-catering. The owners were very helpful.

Couldn’t fault it Please note the spiral staircase as this may be tricky for some people
The location was perfect. We were just stopping one night after out flight before travelling on further into Crete parking nearby exceptionally clean tidy and everything you could possibly need fabulous great nights sleep and literally surrounded by a fine selection of café and restaurants very pretty too

We did have some neighbours who were up having a loud conversation at 6:30 in the morning outside the window. One of the hazards of inner city accommodation. They stopped when we asked them to be quiet. Also there are two beds, a single plus what was a small double - so larger quests who wish to share a bed may struggle!
The apartment is perfectly located in old town, but specifically for what we wanted - a birthday dinner celebration in a restaurant that turned out to be 100m away!
