Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Cosy apartment, but well positioned. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen adjacent to our room for guest use. Great restaurants and cafes close by.

I wish there was a coffee maker. There are steps to get up to the room and that was a little challenging with my suitcase. The room is basic and a good value. You had to turn on a switch to get hot water. And I only had hot water for about three minutes. The staff is not always on site and it does not have a homey and historical feeling. The Wi-Fi was not good.
The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the outside terrace. I liked the blue walls and the location was great. It was very close to the port and relatively flat walk.

The Botsis Guest House is very comfortable and clean. My room had a great double bed and balcony with a view of the port. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of fresh towels and hot water. The Botsis is centrally located close to a supermarket, great bars and restaurants only a short walk from the port. I would highly recommend a stay here.

A jewellery piece of mine went missing.
The location is splendid, the hotel is right next to the port with lots of cafes around. There is also a supermarket and a pet store on the same street. The cleaning lady comes every day and your towels get changed every day while the bedding is changed every two days. It is possible to do laundry on site too, but you need to ask the reception about it.

Fantastic location and the rooms were so unexpectedly light ! Great balcony with fab views and lovely staff. Brilliant value for money, we love this place and Hydra completely! :)

A couple things could be improved. There is a common kitchen but the microwave doesn't work. It would also be nice to have a more thorough cleaning of the room/bathroom at some stage during stays longer than 3 days, which was our case.
The accommodation is very pretty, ideally located in Hydra and the staff is very friendly. The room was simple, not very big but well equipped with AC, balcony, fridge. Fresh towels and linen as well as mineral are provided. We had a wonderful stay there.

Great location, just a couple of minutes from the port. The staff were really helpful and even did our laundry for us during our stay. Would stay here again!

We were in the twin room on the first floor. Plenty of space, large bathroom with hot water, ac and kettle and fridge. Everything we needed and very comfy beds. Great value and lovely owners

It was a little pricey -- it could have offered a little more in the room. And you had to be very careful not to bump your head on the rafters!
Excellent location near the port. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was the attic room and we had a wonderful view of both the port and the hills. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Refrigerator and hot water heater.

I was in the attic. I had a nice balcony, but the room is not built for tall people. I must have hit my head at least 30 times, causing headaches, which I don’t usually get.
