Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLovely little beach hotel with very friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Easy to get to Heraklion by bus or car. Emi Seaside has its own parking lot, which is great if you rent a car during your stay.

RomaniaThe place has dated and basic interiors, so if you fancy a more modern furniture you have to look somewhere else. The cleaning was ok, but in hidden places (eg.: drawers) can be better. The room cleaning is done at noon time which may annoy people coming after lunch and want to nap.
Emi Seaside is located in a more isolated area, quieter than on the main street. It has a private beach with free sunbeds on the seaside, so no extra cost. The parking is free and located next to the property with an access code gate. Next to the property is a nice taverna "Waves Beach Bar Restaurant" with very good greek food. They have an exotic parrot as their mascot. The water is not very deep, with sandy bottom (at the shore at least) and the beach is supervised by a lifeguard.

Very clean, food very tasty, pool area small but that's what made it nice 1 minute walk to the beach. Overall I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely go again. CanadaTurned out that we booked the smallest room which was 16 sqm (including the facilities), which we did not realize from the description on the website, so we had to put some of the furniture on the balcony to fit the suitcases in the room. It is our fault of course and has nothing to do with the property, but please make sure you read the description carefully. Also, the room has an electric kettle but no cups, would be good to add those.
The property is newly renovated and the owners family keeps it immaculately clean. The breakfast was good and the parking was convenient

United KingdomNothing to be negative about - it’s got a great location if you don’t want to stay in the busy city but wish to travel in with ease.
Small super friendly family run hotel right by the beach with a small pool area with lots of sun beds . Waiter service for both beach and pool. Quiet at night , no noise but just short stroll from the shops / tavernas. Breakfast good and reserved pool side tables for sea view apartments. We walked to Heraklion 6km along coastal road. Bus service also runs from Airport to Heraklion to Amoudara 1.50 euro really handy for night out in Heraklion.

GermanyThe balcony offered a very clear view to... the balcony of the hotel next door, so I didn't feel like sitting outside often. The room's furniture only really allowed to watch TV from the bed. I wasn't able to sit somewhere to read or write, in a way to do something when I didn't feel like going to the beach.
The strongest point of the hotel is the easy access to the beach, the availability of plenty of loungers both near the pool and at the beach. The beach itself is also very nice, with soft golden sand and a great view over Crete's mountains. The attention and help of all the staff is also very commendable. I always got a solution for any problem or question I had. Also, the hotel's location makes it very easy to walk into any restaurant or to quickly catch a bus to Heraklion.

SerbiaFlawless - I think that first time in my life I can’t find one thing or situation that was problematic…
This place is perfect.. from the moment you step in until the last moment of your stay, for sure You will enjoy it.. We got a room with a sea view.. when we get up in the morning first what we did is to go out on a huge balcony and the scenery was stunning.. room was spotless like the rest of the hotel… each day room was cleaned and also you get new towels.. And what to tell about food? Breakfast was a great, buffet with variety of dishes.. egss, sausages, bacon, toast, pastries, jams and a lot of fresh fruits.. and also what was a huge plus, owner Mr. George informed us that he made a table reservation on the terrace so we started idyllic each day with a delicious food overlooking the sea and listening to the sound of the waves.. If you choose to have a lunch or dinner here they offer a la carte menu, I was positively suprised how affordable it was and big thanks to Daria for prepariring delicious food and perfect service.. also Stavro… Hotel has a private beach never too crowed, clean, peacefull and quiet.. Just across the street there is a bus station so we could easily reach Heraklion city center ( 15 min ride ) for just 1.5 eur.. and also you have bus to Knosos ( bus ticket is 5 eur )… Nearby there is a lot of traditional Greek tavernas ( recomendation for Uncle George - sea bream ), boutiques, jewelry and souvenir gift shops.. And not to forget, wifi was great in the hotel but especially on the beach… On the last day we had a flight in the afternoon so we were able to spend almost half of the day on the beach and later we had access to the batroom with a shower ( our belonging and suitcases were safely stored next to the reception). To sum up: PERFECTION!!!

Czech RepublicMissing towels on the first day. Host forgot to fill soap. Someone ordered food and beverages on our hotel room number so there was a quite confusion on our leave.
The owner was very accommodating and helpful. Clean rooms, quiet and calm atmosphere. Simple and tasty breakfast. Close to beach with free sunbeds and umbrellas. We definitely recommend this accomodation.

CanadaNothing not to like. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Exactly like in pictures. Clean clean clean property. I clean properties for a living i know where to look. Clean behind beds and in corners. Family owned and operated. Pool area very nice. Air conditioning was great. Water pressure in shower great. Breakfast was great. Proximity to beach great. Beach chairs included with great wifi everywhere including on beach. Took the family room and it was really spacious for a family of 4 North American standards. Plenty of space to hang bathing suits and towels outside. Kitchen a bonus as I like to prep salads for lunch. Free parking. Centrally located in the middle of Crete. We used it as base to check out all the beautiful beaches Crete had to offer and enjoyed the beach at our hotel too.
