Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe bed is a bit hard. The mirrors and shower glass weren't sparkling but that's no big deal, so don't hesitate to book this hotel, it's great value for money.
Excellent location, very close to Nea Chora beach and all the restaurants along the promenade, about 20 minutes walk to the Old Venetian Port. They have their own parking across the road, which is great as it's a bit difficult to find parking in old town. The room is basic, wifi, AC and shower work great, there's ample space in the wardrobe, there's hair dryer in the bathroom and i think you can borrow an iron as i saw a few at the reception (we didn't need it this time). Room was tidied every day and fresh towels were provided. It was a very good choice for the price.

NetherlandsIt was a bit noisy and the room itself was quite basic. TV was really small, fridge was really loud and the lock of the bathroom did not work.
The location was great. A minute away from the beach and walking distance from the city centre. Also great value for your money.

NetherlandsSadly the shower got clogged and the hanger for the clothes was broken. We managed; might be good to check these things before guests arrive.
The room is simple, but enough space for two persons, also to dispose of the luggage. The bathroom is very ok as well, handy to have soaps, shampoos and a hair dryer available. The beds were comfy and the road isn't noisy for being so close to restaurants. Location is great and the beach is just around the corner. It is a narrow beach, but if someone doesn't want to travel to get to the beach, that one is perfect. There are paid and free beaches everywhere. You can walk to the center and there are many restaurants around the area, also places where to have great breakfast.

United KingdomWould have liked a kettle in the room to avoid asking receptionist for boiling water or buying takeaway coffee and tea.
Quiet comfortable very clean hotel only a short distance from the seafront and beach side restaurants and about a kilometer from the old town.. Room had a pleasant balcony overlooking the street which wasn't noisy at all.

United KingdomThe Brits might like to take a travel kettle for a cuppa.
Close enough to the town and more importantly the town beach (3 mins walk) and restaurants at Nea Chora. Great value and quiet if you are in one of the back rooms. It's a perfect place to get your head down and/or shower. The a/c is quiet and the in-room fridge is most helpful. Rooms cleaned daily and the shapes made by housekeeping with the fresh towels will make you smile. Breakfast can be had locally. This is not a destination hotel but a convenient, friendly, clean and great value place to stay overnight. I have been going to this neighbourhood since 1966 as my Mother was from Nea Chora. This is a decent little cheap hotel if on a budget.

BulgariaWhat was maybe the only problem with them is that the oldtimer on night shift yelled at us as we tried to help my uncle unlock his room as he thought we were using one double room for 3 people. I needed to show him my other key for room 20(my uncle was in room 18). This is not acceptable as they should know better their guests and double check before making foolish accusations. I paid for 2 rooms for the 3 of us. The street in front of the hotel is in construction and that was a bit of a problem when we navigated first to find the hotel because the street was completely closed from one side. But that's not their fault and later we found the best way to enter and exit the street by car.
The hotel has free parking. Relatively good price. Close to the beach and by car close to the Old Town. The young guy who checked us in was very kind and helpful.

AustriaThe rooms are basic with slightly dated furniture, but are comfortable and clean. The hotel is located slightly outside of the city center, but the old town of Chania is still within walking distance. The area is comparatively quite and parking is available on site. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

CanadaRoom 31 & 32 were the same type we booked. Room 31 was ready, but the receptionist asked us to wait 1 hour for the room 31 which the key was not working properly. It’s nice that we switched to room 32 under request. No shampoo, soaps were like 2 small pieces of rubber.
