Great location, lovely communal spaces, good choice for breakfast, lovely pool.

Lack of air conditioning apart from the bedrooms. Too hot to spend much time in the nice areas.

The bathroom is in need of an upgrade actually th rooms do as well. But it was comfy but not great

Perfect location right on the edge of the old town, close to parking so great base for exploring. Good breakfast with a lot of choice. All staff were really friendly and the pool is fabulous

Nothing it was perfect

The hotel is very elegant and wonderful. The location is terrific. The room was very big and very comfortable. The breakfast was great, with very good variety. There is a nice little bar, pool area and several sitting areas. A favorite hotel for us.

The parking and drop off were not clear to us, but we got a spot in the private lot less than a block from the hotel and everything was perfect.

Clean and close to everything

Was hard to get there by car when the road along the waterfront was closed in the evening

Great location in old town, cheap parking and nice sized triple room.

Steets were a little noisy through the night with scooters and smoke from poolside drifted into corridors and room on one wing of hotel.

The rooms were comfortable, the staff were really friendly and the location of the hotel is perfect as it is in short walking distance from the Fortezza and all the old town has to offer. Paid parking is provided near by.

The air conditioning only just cooled the room.

Brilliant, central location to explore

The property is in a fantastic location - a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The swimming pool was a lovely bonus, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

We loved this hotel, which was perfect for our 2 week trip to Rethymno. It's in the perfect location, minutes from the best restaurants and bars in the old town, but still peaceful, and a street away from the crowds. The pool area was perfect, lovely place to spend some time relaxing, when we weren't off exploring the city and the rest of the island. The staff were amazing and friendly, always on hand to support and help in any way. Just a tip to others - there is free street parking around the city, but if you have a car and can't find a spot, the car park opposite the hotel offers a deal for Hotel Fortezza guests. We didn't know this the first time we parked there, but it was 50% discount. Would definitely return if we come back to Crete in the future, and highly recommend.

Nothing - everything was perfect

The location was fun in old town, and the pool was super relaxing to sit by. Breakfast was good. Facilities are a little bit older, but everything was super clean, and the a/c ran well!

the hotel is in the city center very close to everything we were there just one night so we can't rate much, but the room was clean, breakfast was ok

Our 3rd visit, as good as always. Hotel is in a great location near the old harbour and right in the lovely old town. I love the walled garden with the pool, a peaceful spot in the heart of the city. Hotel is spotlessly clean and rooms are a good size and well decorated. Would definitely recommend.

It's a nice hotel in the heart of Rethymno. Clean, relatively spacious.
