Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyWould have been better to have more information on how to check in, although a member of staff at the Glyfa Taverna very kindly helped. More information about things to do and see in local area would have been helpful. The location and terrain could have been better... the hill down to the apartment was steep and uneven. Also would have been good to have an on site supermarket. The walk to the supermarket in Barbati was on a busy main road with no pavement and felt unsafe. There wee buses however but not too frequent albeit a good service. Would have preferred a balcony and nit a terrace. Also a view other than a wall would have been good.
Comfortable modern apartment. The cleaning staff exceptional. Cleaned every 2 days with fresh towels to a high standard.

United KingdomSadly the aircon did not work… I spoke to the owner/manager three times but nothing happened and we were BOILING…. I literally slept for two hours and it really impacted on the next day… We were a late arrival but I had let the property manager know about this before, and asked him to let me know the number of the apartment, which he did not do which was the first phone call. The next two phone calls were about the aircon…. It was disappointing and I will book somewhere in future which has on site reception.
This is a good location and we have stayed for a night once before

United StatesWhen we arrived it was 40 Celsius and there was no air conditioning turned on. After a delayed flight and late arrival we had to call someone in to get them functioning properly at midnight. They did and after that all was well. Parking was challenging with not enough spaces for the amount of guests but we got creative.
The beach was very nice, having the restaurant there was convenient and the rooms were nice and simple. The pool was a nice addition for cooling off if you didn't feel like going to the ocean to swim.

United KingdomAlthough the location is on a beautiful beach there’s pretty much nothing else nearby but if you just want to relax then this is a perfect location. 20mins walk to nearest shop just to get water. beds were very uncomfortable.
The views from the apartment. The swimming pool. the beautiful beach at the bottom of the steps. Very clean. Lovely Teverna next door. Accommodated my baby needs.

United Arab EmiratesIt was unclear how to get the keys and then how to check out. The receptionist wasn't answering their phone so we didn't know how to check out.
The property had a nice view of the sea and a nice peaceful beach right below. There is a tavern right next door with amazing seafood as well.

United StatesI didn’t have good service inside the room. also with it being far from everything you only have the restaurant next door for food. so I recommend bringing food. the closest night life area is ipsos. it’s about a 15 minute drive. if you don’t rent a car prepare to spend a lot on taxis
beautiful views and quiet nice restaurant next door for food and private beach access

RomaniaOverall everything was good but if i have to be critical i would say : 1. There is no reception there, although someone is always recheable by phone. We recieved only 1 key for 2 people. The key needed to stay in the room if we wanted to have electricity . But the door once closed locked itself automatically. In my opinion in these conditions it would have been impossible not to lock yourself out at least one time. Normally you have 2 keys. This happenned to us at 10 pm and they asked for 50 euro to come unlock the door. Since we had only 1 key i was pretty angry. Luckily we were on the ground floor and i could slide open the mosquito net and enter the room . 2. Our studio was spacious and nice but i don't think it is quite 50 m2. More like 35-40 m2 in my opinion. The bathroom is small and kind of old . 3. Only 3-4 parking spots and sometimes there was nowhere to park unless i blocked other cars 4 if you have no car you need to walk like 20 minutes until you arrive to the main zone in Barbati where the beach also is
The location is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, the view from the pool is lovely and it is nice that there is a small beach and taverna right near the apartments . If you have an apartment and not a studio you also have a beautiful view from the room. The cleaning lady changed the sheets and the towels regularly and was very helpful with everything we asked for !

ItalyOur apartment was not sea view, as we paid for. It was wall view. Because it is on the back of another block of apartments. WiFi in the apartment doesn't work well. Our room was very noisy because just close to the main, very busy, road. The bathroom very basic, without shelf or other holders where putting products.
Every day cleaning.

United KingdomThe air con in the bedroom worked, but it wouldn't get as cool as I would have liked. The air con downstairs was really good though. We were a little too far out from the local village, and the lack of pavements made walking difficult.
The hand over of the keys; the apartment was beautifully clean, and was cleaned during our stay to a very high standard. The view was great, and the pool was lovely.

PolandUnfortunately, the apartment, though clean, was in rather bad shape and definitely requires a revamp. The fridge-freezer was old, lacked shelves, and the freezing unit was almost completely frosted. There were small ants running continuously on the kitchen top. The oven-grill was old and rusted on the outside. The double bed in the master bedroom upstairs was essentially two single beds pulled together with a break in the middle. Worst of all, the air-conditioning units were not only old (with plastic yellow from age), but refused to work (first the unit downstairs, then, on the second night, the unit upstairs). It made our nights difficult to bear (the apartment no. 1 where we stayed is just next to a busy coastal road - opening windows meant constant noise from the road). We appreciated that, to make up for our difficult stay, the manager moved us for our last night to a neighbouring property of higher standard and with working A/C. We were very grateful for that, nonetheless, we feel that Glyfa apartments did not live up to what it promised on Booking.com.
The beach at the bottom of the steps was lovely - sunbeds were available, the water was crystal-clear, and the beach was uncrowded.
