    Cannot really fault the hotel.

It is a family run hotel and very welcoming, looking after the guests very well. The food is excellent and the owners give you complimentary dessert. Once we were late getting back to the hotel and the restaurant was closed. The owners made special arrangements to make dinner for us that was really sweet. The pool is clean and we enjoyed the swim. The location is good for the red beach that is extraordinary and the archaeological sites are easily accessible. The bus stop is just outside and there is a timetable that is given to you as you check in.

One of the two showers was leaking all over the bathroom, ended up with a bathroom lake every time.

The manager (or at least, the lady that was at the desk the most often!) was perfectly bilingual, very practical. Rooms had a gorgeous views and each a private small patio overlooking vineyards and the sea - beyond our expectation! Pool was nice and there was a nice casual pool bar and restaurant, which were very practical too. Hotel arranged for tours (again, bilingualism was practical). Bus stop right in front of the hotel, walking distance from the village where there are restaurants, and from a gorgeous unknown beach. Loved our stay at the Kalimera! Breakfast pool side was awesome too. Hotel really exceeded our expectations.

The only thing we didn't like is that they not aloud you to stay on the pool at night unless you don't buy a drink from the bar

The receptionist was very, very friendly and she gave us some recommendation what to see on the island and also about parking. It was a very charming hotel ,nice breakfast-especially the cheese and the tomatoes :)

    1. Rooms were quite small 2. Breakfast choices very limited. 3. Clean up after yourself after breakfast. Take your plate back to the kitchen ... Etc. 4.Its a family run hotel, was expecting friendly and happy vibe, but at times it felt like we were encroaching in their space. 5. Lots of rules around the pool area. 6. Slightly far from the capital Fira,15min bus, and transfers to all other destinations is from there.

1.Pool area was nice. 2.As much as I said we were encroaching in their space, they were ok. 3. Bus stop right outside hotel! 4. 250m from beach. (Downhill take protective swim shoes...beaches are rocky) 5. 200m from Akrotiri central square,

The staff were all very accommodating and helpful. It was very well kept and clean. We had a great time relaxing by the pool or hanging out in our little patio. The location was perfect for our plans as it was easy to wait outside to jump on the local bus or to walk down the street to restaurants or down to the excavations and red beach. Recommend the hotel and the location for those who are looking for an area a little quieter but still allows for lots of exploring and great food.

Our bathroom was pretty dark (one small bulb over the sink) and the shower didn't drain well.

The staff--especially Flora--bent over backwards to make us happy. The pool and outdoor spaces were lovely, the room cute, clean and comfortable.

The hotel is lovely. but I should of done a bit more research on the area. Its far away from Fira and the last bus back leaves at 22.30. There isn't really anywhere to go in the village at night.

When we arrived we were warmly greeted and given a map and bus timetable. Told all about the island and the local area. All very helpful. Room was nice, cleaned everyday and bathroom was huge. Decent selection for breakfast. Actually one of the best things about the hotel is the food. It was much nicer there than the restaurants in the village. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. Hotel arranged a transfer to airport for only €20.

Breakfast and food. Breakfast was very slight, not usual Mediterrean slight, but slight. They did not appear to replenish plates and quality of food was not excellent. The eggs tasted stale, the fruit was grainy with very little variety. Coffee and Tea water was tepid. For a tea and coffee drinker it is important to have beverages HOT! They were not. Only the food was a downer.......

The property itself is lovely. The upkeep of the hotel and the grounds is impeccable. The cleaning lady is friendly and thorough, but the grounds keeper who does a lot including laundry and cleaning was truly amazing.

The rooms are small with our bed being pushed against the wall on one side. Having said that, it was similar to rooms in other parts of Greece and Italy we have stayed in and was offset by the substantial balcony and spacious pool area.

The hotel is immaculate, all areas freshly painted and spotless. The pool is fantastic with views to the sea overlooking vineyards and plenty of seating and shade. Pool towels are supplied without extra charge. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The room balconies are plenty big enough for table and chairs for two. The caldera view rooms have stunning views towards Fira. The bathrooms are modern and each room has a refrigerator and excellent air conditioning. A short walk to the village (about 200 meters) with tavernas and shops for drinks and essentials. The bus stop for Fira or the archaeological site is directly outside the hotel.

Staff was not very helpful and in some instances rude (for example when we asked for an extra towel). Bathroom was tiny, and shower so small you were sticking to the curtain. Disgusting. Horrible breakfast, as even the very simple things they had (croissants and cakes) were old and stale.

    No negatives

The location was great for us, being more interested in history (eg Akrotiri archeological site) rather than beaches. The Akrotiri site was within walking distance and the red beach just a bit further on. It was a short walk to numerous and excellent local tavernas. There was a local bus stop directly out the front of the hotel which was a comfortable 20 minute trip to Fira. A picturesque countryside location amongst vineyards, with easy and affordable bus access to any other location on the island. All of our interactions were with the younger staff and they were always very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we loved our courtyard overlooking the vineyard. The traditional Santorini architecture and the gardens and landscaping were very colourful and attractive. The layout of the hotel, including the restaurant and pool area was lovely and well thought out. There were some great finishing touches in the decor using traditional/antique artifacts and replicas of ancient artwork. The traditional Greek and Continental buffet breakfast was a hit every morning.
