Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe food (breakfast was eatable the dinner not) Coffee(the place need a new coffee maker from the 21.century) We got a new experience in the night bar...the draught wine😁,i have never seen this kind of wine before. But true it was cheap
We had only one reason to booked this hotel the location and the price. We spent there only one night for 35 eur.It was a very low price. The location is amazing, better than looks like on pictures. The hotel itself🙂...has seen better days I think. It must have been an amazing hotel in the 90's. But nowedays...it is a waste. The receptionist was more than helpful. She was very nice. For one night it was ok.

United KingdomThe only thing that could be improved is the WiFi in the rooms as the phone signal is not good but it’s not a problem as the WiFi in all public areas is excellent.
The staff. Everyone who works at Kalypso is great. One of the best friendly places I have been too. From morning till night, start of the holiday till the end we were always made to feel so welcome. The food at the restaurant was nothing but excellent every single day. Room with a fantastic view.

GreeceThe hotel knows that there is no phone or Internet signal in the rooms and this is a big issue. The infrastructure is old and would be benefited from a renovation. The location is not too far from the nearest village but the road themself it's the typical cretan one, making it a bit difficult to reach especially at night. The breakfast options were not very creative nor represented the local cuisine. I wish there were more plant-based options too. Same for the lunch/dinner.
The room was clean and comfortable. It was fairly quiet and we slept well. The staff was friendly.

CanadaThe only 2 things I did not like is food is not labeled. We have seafood allergies and nearly ate the salad with crab as the sauce covers it. Sticked to vegan choices. The sun beds are worn out and looked dirty. They need to be renewed. Others wise had a great time.
The hotel was clean. Room clean and spacious. Beds a bit hard. The food was good. Original swim area. Nice pools. Needs new mats for sun beds..a bit old. Very nice location. Amazing staff.

Greecevery bad mobile signal and wifi. the meals were mediocre but average taking into consideration that it is buffet at a 4 star hotel. the hotel when it was first built it should be one of the best and luxurious, but smalls changes must have happenned from then. it gives you the sense it is old and that it needs rennovation.
the location of the hotel is magnificent.

DenmarkThe buildings were old. The toilet in the room was very old and not well maintained! The rooms at first floor had a bad humid like odor. We shifted at the second floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They changed our room pretty soon after we complained. The room was not cleaned properly. And the food was really low quality. It had nothing in common with local Greek food!! Everything industrial and very badly cooked! If this place would have had the right management it might have been changed in a real paradise. But it felt like the owners didn’t care about investing in maintaining a certain level of quality in this resort!! It was not definitely worth it the amount of money paid!!
The location was great! Very unik location, great nature and the panoramic view was exceptional!!

SloveniaFOOD: terrible. We thought that people in the comments were just picky - but no. It is terrible. If you haven’t pay for your dinner - better to eat somewhere in the close town, because is not worth 13€/person (drinks not included). Poor tasting, cold. WASPS everywhere on the dining balcony. At breakfast even on food inside. TOWELS: In the room they forgot to give us towels for the shower. SOAP: no soap for shower. Every room on our 2-week trip had a set of soap and other necessities for the toilet. WIFI: only good in the reception and dining area, otherwise there’s no signal in the room. There’s also weak mobile signal for data usage and regular mobile calls. BEACH: full of trash and the sunbeds on the beach, which is already small, are 5€/person. And they don’t look ok. But they are free by the pool. POOL WC: didn’t look clean to me. Also no soap. WEATHER: The wind can be super strong. Not hotel’s fault, but still worth mentioning. The hotel is lucky for its location. It is scenic. If you have a car, I strongly recommend to come here for a pic or two and that’s it. Sleep somewhere else.
Some of the stafd were very kind.

SlovakiaI was travelling and working remotely for a couple of hours a day. For work this place is simply a no go. No wifi in the rooms. Internet speed was not good and frequently disconnecting, even when being closed to router in the lobby, near the reception and the area is noisy. There is no 4G in the area either. Food quality could also get improved and the rooms get modernised.
Place has a really good potential, the area is really beautiful. Rocky cliffs with nice walks and lookout and incredible underwater scenary with clear water and great visibility..

We loved our stay at Kalypso! It fully exceeded my expectations after reading the reviews here. We booked the accommodation for a very reasonable price with breakfast and dinner and it was amazing, real Greek food with a big choice. It is true that some facilities would need some renovation but the place is so ideal i did not really care about this. All 3 swimming pools were working when we arrived, the view from there is spectacular, as well as from the balcony. I would suggest to access the property by car. We had a car but without it it is not really possible to reach the property, it is far from Plakias by walk. There are no shops around, so you need to prepare or order All Inclusive.

SpainThe advertised SPA and the "fitness center" were not avaliable during my stay. Apparently it is going to be avaliable in late May. However there was not information about this closed services before booking. That really upset me. This website should work hard in keep away offers that do not correspond to reality. I feel a bit scammed.

United KingdomEven though we had a 1-night stay at the end of October, we did enjoy most of the facilities of the resort. The lady at the check-in was very polite and we got a room that was very clean with wonderful views. The food was mostly greek kitchen, it was great. Friendly staff and well-maintained buildings.

GreeceWe had a great time!!! Breathtaking landscape, seems to be a natural park with a rich sea life in the private cove where we had scuba diving experience and the first PADI certificate, such an organised center!!! Hotel staff was very friendly and well organized ready to satisfy all our requests!! Room was comfortable with high standards cleaning service! We enjoyed greek cuisine and delicious coccktails!! Unforgettable animation nights with music, greek dances, contests ecc. We also tried massage in the SPA center and a yoga session but unfortunatelly our stay was short. Next summer we'll explore better this small paradise :)
