How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewThe staff was exceptional and could not do enough for you. Anything you wanted or needed was supplied happily. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillow choices. Pool towels were free and readily available as well as bath towels. The food was fabulous with great variety. We ate breakfast each day at the hotel and one dinner. The dinner menu is changed daily and was excellent and service was impeccable. The location was right next to a bus stop so going into town was easy with buses every 20 minutes. The beach was a 10 minute walk. The hotel will arrange transportation and tours for you if requested. The room was cleaned daily. I would definitely stay there again.
There could have been a sea view, but I did not miss it. The pool was great and very well cared for. So I really loved everything about this hotel.

Verified reviewThe breakfast options were plentiful. The grounds were well-kept. It was close to the airport.
When we first arrived, we were shown to a room that was very disappointing. It was extremely small, the bathroom was not clean, and the air conditioning unit was positioned directly over the bed, making it uncomfortable. The balcony was almost entirely taken up by a large hot tub, leaving only enough space for a tiny table and two chairs, which made it essentially unusable. We requested a new room, and to the hotel manager’s credit, our request was honored after a couple of days. The new room was much better, and we appreciated that effort. Unfortunately, our experience at dinner was another disappointment. My friend ordered the grilled tuna, which should have been served rare, but instead it was completely overcooked and inedible. When she mentioned this to the wait staff, they simply shrugged and walked away without offering any solution or concern, which left a very poor impression of the service. We were also dissatisfied with the hotel’s location. The description online suggested it was close to many restaurants, offered a lively nightlife, and sat near a beautiful beach. In reality, there were very few dining options, no nightlife to speak of, and the beach was far from impressive. The area felt more like an extension of the city than a relaxing beach destination, which was not at all what we expected.

The staff were absolutely amazing and very accommodating from the minute we checked at reception to the day we left they constantly checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed and always served us with a smile. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast and dinners were Devine I would recommend when booking a room include the breakfast and dinner. Breakfast catered for all and plentiful, the dinner was a 5 course degustation every night and the menu was changed daily such a delight and very delicious. Beach was less than 5 min walk and very nice to swim in. Bus stop out the front so easy to get into heart of the city.

Verified reviewThe staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the hot tub in our room was fabulous. We had half board and the breakfast and dinners were great. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach too so went to watch the sunrise a couple of times. The pool area had a lot of areas to sit so we were able to find sunloungers in the sun or shade every day. There are supermarkets, a number of restaurants and pharmacies all within walking distance of the hotel. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel with buses every 15 mins to Heraklion centre. The hop on hop off bus also stops near Amoudara beach.
We wanted to have lunch at the hotel one day but it wasn't available. Everything else was great.
