How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe hotel is located in a small village (Kalamaki) of Pelion. The room we stayed was spacious, with the basic amenities for our stay. It had a big balcony overlooking the Aegean sea and was cleaned every two days which was sufficient and welcome. The hosts were polite and happy to provide any information we required. The closest beach from the hotel is about 7' drive (Kalamaki beach) while most of the famous beaches of Pelion are between 40-70 mins away with the car. Tsagarada village is about 30' drive while the closest market is in nearby villages about 15' mins drive. Overall, for the price we paid a great bargain.
The room's refrigerator was making a lot of noise which was annoying during the night and the hotel might need to consider changing them to more silent alternatives. Some of the cupboards had a strong smell of humidity and the room itself is in need of a refreshment (both the walls and the furniture). Also a lot of noise was coming from other tenants (especially kids) who were shouting and playing outside, even in early morning.

Verified reviewI find it difficult to give a balanced judgment about this place. The hotel, in terms of location and structure, is fantastic: it consists of a series of restored housing units that preserve the volumes, materials, and colors typical of the village of Kalamaki. This is very important and deserves the highest score. The atmosphere is equally relaxing and friendly. At the same time, however, I cannot accept that the rooms have no shutters, only simple white curtains. At 5 a.m. the room was fully lit. I noticed that not all rooms are like this, but ours were. We asked for a solution, but there was no reaction from the managers. For me this is unacceptable: if a guest points out something missing, you shouldn’t bury your head in the sand—you should make an effort and find a solution.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your room, located in a traditional Pelion building, does not have shutters but is equipped with blackout curtains to reduce the light. We fully understand your need for complete darkness during sleep however, due to the architecture and the unique structure of the property, structural changes are unfortunately not possible. For this reason, we offered you the use of a sleep mask as an alternative solution, which you kindly chose not to use. We always strive to accommodate our guests in the best possible way, within the limits of what is feasible. Once again, thank you for your high rating, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Verified reviewHotel is on a nice hill, with a great view of the sea. Rooms are spacious, and cleaning lady comes every two days. Maria, manager, is super kind and willing to help. Wifi was really good. We liked a lot people, stuff and rooms.
There is a restaurant and a possibility to breakfast. Once, we took breakfast and was pretty bad value for money (10e per person). Also, we ordered burgers and got cold piece of meat and not fried well potato. So definetly, because of lack of options for food, we think it would be much better if food was better.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback and for highlighting the positive aspects of your stay, such as the view, the spacious rooms, the Wi-Fi, and the service provided by our team. We are glad you enjoyed our hospitality. We are truly sorry that your dining experience did not meet your expectations. Your comments are very valuable to us, as they help us improve. We are already working with our kitchen team to ensure we offer better quality and that all dishes are served as they should be. We hope you will give us the opportunity in the future to provide you with an even more complete and enjoyable experience. Kind regards Maria
