The wi-fi can be a little temperamental, but one comes here to stare at the beauty of the surroundings, not at the phone or computer.

Tastefully designed, extremely clean, quiet and peaceful. Thoughtfulness abounds with breakfast presentation and design of rooms and grounds, and the staff are pleasant and engaged with the clients. Salt water pool is clean and refreshing.

There is nothing I did not like

Everything was amazing. The property is beautiful, the hosts were the epitome of greek hospitality and the breakfast was great. Just about 10 minutes walk from the village and from most of the beaches.

It is very modern, nicely decorated, near popular beaches, it offers rich breakfast and you also have the option to lie by the pool. In addition the property offers free transfer from and to the port. Nicole at the reception is extremely polite and always willing to give you information about everything. A real gem to the rest of Portes Houses facilities!

Quaint little studios that are well designed, each with a private terrace. Comfortable beds and nice big bathroom plus kitchenette. Breakfast is served on your private terrace which is a lovely touch. Quiet location just off the main route through the island.

We had a basement room, but it was noisy when the staff were coming and going from the kitchen. You do have to be prepared to walk 15 mins everywhere from the hotel though, and it’s quite dark on the road at night, which those travelling alone may not feel comfortable about. Due to the wind the umbrellas are understandably nailed into the ground, so it’s hard to sit in the shade in the afternoon as the angle of the sun / design of the pool deck means it’s impossible to move the beds into the shade.

The hotel is beautifully designed, particularly around the pool. Breakfast is generous and tasty. Views are lovely and it’s nicely situated between the town and the main beaches. Our ferry was cancelled due to the weather and everyone was very helpful.

It is a very nice hotel with a super helpful staff. The swimming pool is great and it has gorgeous views. Our room didn’t have a balcony, but they would serve us breakfast every morning by the pool which was very nice. The free transfer from and to the port is also a big plus and all the employees + the owners are very nice.

unfortunately the basement apartments are quite restricting to let the visitor enjoy the vibe of the islands. some rooms need to be sound proof during breakfast in the pool sun is annoying

wifi connection was spotty and often didn’t work. doesn’t matter a ton when you are in such a beautiful place but important to know it wasn’t reliable.

beautiful grounds and rooms. breakfast on the balcony was a wonderful way to wake up. walk into town was less than 10 minutes and great proximity to the coastal road and beaches. the two men who worked at the hotel and brought breakfast every day were so lovely.

We loved everything about it.

The views are simply spectacular, the landscaping and the villas were beautiful. An outstanding and romantic property for couples. It’s far enough away from the bustling main village and beaches, to ensure a relaxing vacation, but close enough, for a healthy walk to some magnificent turquoise beaches, and the bustling Chora with its many restaurants, boutiques and bars. An added bonus on the Portes Houses property is a lovely salt water pool and bar.

it looked understaffed in this period, I felt almost guilty ordering something at the pool between the break of the manager/bartender between 3 and 6 pm. although only 3 bungalows were rented. Little choice on the menu.

Nice bungalow with porch, close to beaches and town, nice pool area, free drive to port. Good feedback from the owner about missing ferry tickets.

We had some troubles with the phone signal and the wifi but it wasn't something significant

Everything was top notch, from the customer service to the room's total hygene. The yard was really nice and clean, the staff was very polite and helpful and in the room you really felt at home. I totaly recommend Portes houses to everyone who is looking for something beautiful, comfortable and peaceful.

Despite the fact that the facilities of the room included a boiler, a coffee maker and an iron, none of them were in the room and we had to ask for them. The owners were polite but the reception was closed during noon, from 15:00 to 18:00 , thus making an unprofessional impression especially during the last day of our visit, as they have forgotten our luggage in the reception when they were supposed to be in the mini van to the port.

The location of the property was pretty great as it is built exactly in the middle of the main road of the island, thus being 10 minutes away from the Chora and 15 minutes away from Italida Beach. The property was clean and relatively new built.
