How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewClose free and private parking. Easy key pick up. Apartment is on the lake with restaurants and shops below. I’m a little sad though - the apartment was so fantastic that I had to push myself to go out and adventure. Fantastic spot!

Verified reviewThe house looked exactly like the pictures, modern with a lot attention to details. It was very clean and they had made the couch bed for us. We asked for parking and they provided one 5 minutes away form the property. At last, the location was perfect, next to the lake.

Verified reviewPerfect location, beautiful view overlooking the lake and in the middle of the town so only a few minutes walk to nearby restaurants, beaches etc. the apartment itself was absolutely gorgeous, and had all the amenities you could need (including air con). The owner was really responsive and helpful. Balcony was so fab and spacious too!

Verified reviewThe rooms were spotless clean, spacious, modern and tasteful. The one I stayed with my husband in (teenagers sons were in a separate room) also had a marvelous view to the lake. Kitchen was well equipped, including a good size refrigerator, microwave oven, and all the small electrical appliances, but also a nespresso machine and pods. Bathrrom was very big and well kept. Our host was super friendly and helpful with all our requests and gave us great tips for our stay in the area.
The room does not have shades (only curtains) and it is hit by the sun all afternoon. We arrived in the evening and it was like a greenhouse. This could be easily fixed if the host closes the drapes and turns on the air condition for a couple of hours before estimated arrival for a much more welcoming experience. Also, the pillows were too thick/not comfortable to sleep on, more like decorative pillows.

Verified reviewThe accommodation is very nice and stylishly furnished. It's right in the town, and the location is truly perfect if you want to explore Agios Nikolaos. The building has an elevator, which was perfect for us with our heavy luggage. The apartment was really clean (even the refrigerator, which isn't often the case). The bed was nice and big and comfortable. We even had a small gift (Greek sweets and raki) on the table, as well as wine and water in the fridge. Thank you so much for that! The manager was extremely helpful, super quick to communicate, and very friendly. Thank you so much for the pleasant stay!
Only two small things that could be improved: The air conditioning wasn't very powerful. We had it set to 16 degrees so it was bearable for us. However, it should be noted that it was almost 40 degrees Celsius outside at that time. The shower head, or rather, its installation, isn't ideal.

As someone mentioned in a previous review, it would be helpful to have a small clothes rack or drying line to hang wet beachwear after coming back from the beach. It’s a very minor detail, but something that could be a nice improvement.

Verified reviewSpacious room, super clean, and offering a beautiful view. Self check-in was easy and clear, host was very responsive. Plenty of restaurants and sights just a short walk away. Despite the central location, it was wonderfully quiet at night. Several breakfast spots nearby made mornings a breeze. Parking was within walking distance as well. Highly recommend!

Verified reviewThis is a quite nice apartment with a beautiful view across the “lake” (we were in apartment 401). The layout was spacious and the bed and couch were quite comfortable — and there was plenty of hot water. Being off-season, it was pretty quiet but may get a bit noisy in the high season given its location. Everything was very clean, in good working order, and overall, the apartment is well maintained with a few very minor signs of wear. The host was very communicative and responsive. Self-check-in is seamless with good directions.
All relatively minor: We found the kitchen completely adequate but it is missing some basics - a cutting board, more than one small pan, proper dish towels. It is also bit odd that the WiFi is off as soon as the key is removed. Not a huge deal, but if you wanted to, say, send or receive files while you are out, that is not going to happen. Only other thing was that while out, the cleaning service entered the room with no notice, and the apartment is not advertised as “serviced.” Being here only 3 days, we did not need service and found it less than ideal that someone came in unannounced.

Verified reviewThe appartement is really beautiful and spacious and has a nice view of the lake. The communication with the host was very good. We did not have warm water, but they allowed us to shower in the room next door. The parking is a nice bonus. Just 5 minutes walk (uphill).
