We loved everything - one of the best hotels we stayed at on holidays.

Samaina is not one of the soulless, huge, all inclusive hotels, but a cute villa with a great, cozy vibe. It is perfectly located in the heart of Phytagorio, just a couple of minutes walk from port, main street, shops, restaurants, castle and (our favourite) Phytagorio beach. You can easily hike to other local attractions such as tunnel and monastery. The rooms are equipped with everything one might need during holidays and they are exceptionally clean. We stayed at the room with terrace and the sea view is just beautiful - the terrace is a great spot to chill in the mornings and evenings. The owners are very very kind people and they are happy to advise on best restaurants and answer other questions about the island. The street where the hotel is located is silent at night - no loud noises or other disruptions (we stayed at Samos in an early October).

It is a nice family owned Hotel and it reflects the simplicity of Greek vacation. Simple, clean, friendly, The owner Petros is a solution oriented hands on guy.. We loved chit chatting with him. We had a room with view & you can have an aperatif/Glass of ouzo witching 18:30 Patmos ferry entering the port :)

Felt like I was staying at my grandparents, Petros and his wife are the nicest people. They even offered me a cake freshly baked cake! I’m not a breakfast person, but they have a nice breakfast service every morning. Rooms are clean with great views of the sea and the port. Hotel is really close to the beach and to the centre! Room also had a built in radio service which would play music during the day, which I really enjoyed! Overall a great place to stay and feel like you’re at home! Thank you Petros!!

The location is perfect, close to the beach and restaurants.The rooms are beautiful and clean with balconies that face the sea. We felt quite welcomed and comfortable as if we were at home, thanks to Petros' hospitality and politeness. We can't wait to plan another stay there again!

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms. We stayed at this hotel almost 1 week, it was very comfortable we felt like home, we had a great terrace and view. Owners are really nice. It is really close to the central. I’ll extremely recommend it.

It was hard to find the street with a car as a tourist but we got used to it once we figured it out. The parking spot in front of hotel was limited but wasn’t a big issue

The location of the hotel was really close to various restaurants and beaches. The receptionist or owner was very helpfull and kind. He welcomed us with cold water, gave us parking advice, carried our baggage. He helped us everytime we needed something. We also received a gift when we were leaving which was very thoughtful. Rooms were clean and had everything that we would need. Balcony had a cozy view.

I wish I could have stayed more.

It was one of the best hotels I have stayed, mostly because of the staff who took a great care of us. Additionally, the location was close to the restaurants and beaches. Moreover, the room was perfect to coming back from a beach day and relax before going out again. I definitely recommend.

The owner was very kind to welcome us outslde of the hotel. They immediately offered us cold water. He also called an agency on our behalf to check boats next morning. It saved us the hassle to go to a travel agency that evening.

If your baggage is heavy it may be difficult to go uphill on the ramp road. Otherwise the location is good for reaching everywhere in center.

No tea making in the room - but you could go down to the bar.

Petros and his wife are excellent, friendly and supportive hosts. The location should not be underestimated, it is perfect, short distances from everything (including the ferry port) and quiet. We chose Samaina from our short list as it stood out with its bright colours, and never regretted it. oh and we didn’t have to worry about the classic hotel old sagging bed - the bed was the best we’ve had in a hotel since pre-pandemic.

Toilet was a bit cramped and might not suit an overweight person.

Large sitting area outside. Fantastic breakfast. Very helpful host could not do enough for us. Well placed for visit to museum and trench (can walk to if fit). We did not have a car but did do a trip one day.
