Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI don't like the grey decor. Very drab. No iron & board in room. A hand rail in the shower would be a sensible addition.
The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good. The beds are very comfortable and rooms very clean with effective triple glazing to keep out the noise of central Athens.

ItalyThe rooms were a little small for a one-week stay. There wasn't enough storage space for two adults in the room.
The hotel had everything we needed. It was clean, modern and efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant and bar were outstanding.

United KingdomThe road outside is very busy, with a complicated roundabout. You can’t hear it from inside but I would be careful with children.
The room was spacious. They were very prompt in helping with any issues we had during our stay. High variety at breakfast. Room service was quick and tasty. The pool was nice, not overly busy. Close to the metro and taxis were always outside. A lot of the bus day trips started from close by the hotel. To walk to the acropolis it was around 20 minutes, so okay to walk alternately.

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel is quite clean however it lacks some of the minor items like slippers, soap holder and facial tissues. At the time of our stay we only have a twin bed that was joined together for the 3 of us so it was not the best.
The hotel has a great location. Its close to a metro station so going around Athens makes it easy. If youre going on a tour it is also an easy pick up and drop off point for the tour buses. Breakfast is also decent. It includes most of the continental buffet items. Staff is also helpful and friendly and managed to get us an early checkin. Hotel has also a nice rooftop pool area with a view of the Acropolis.

United KingdomWe had 2 rooms (one executive and one standard double) the standard had no air conditioning just a reverse heater which made it very hot and uncomfortable to sleep at night. When we spoke to staff they reassured us that the air conditioning system would be switched on for the entire hotel midway through our holiday (on 1st April). This seemed a very odd situation when the weather was already very hot by end of March. The standard double is nowhere near quality of executive suite and very much not value for money. Breakfast was chaotic every morning. The lifts take ages to turn up. Hard to understand why you have to enter at the rear of the property (quite dim and dirty looking) when there are so many glass windows/doors to the front of the property.
The roof top pool was an added bonus we probably would not have chosen this hotel were it not for this. The executive suite was very nice. The staff were helpful in ensuring gluten free options were available (if limited).

United KingdomThe AC was not on and when it finally got turned on it was not working properly after multiple complaints. The pool area is pretty small and hard to enjoy due to this but the cost of the hotel balances the pros and cons.
The hotel was in a good location and the rooftop bar had great views.

South AfricaThe room cleaners are not thorough. Because i would wake up late most days, I would see how the cleaning was done. My room was neither dusted not hoovered. Cups were wiped and put back instead of being washed thoroughly and they still had my lipstick marks. Practically the only thing done was make the bed. I had to remind the lady to replace my water, teas, bath gels and lotions. Also the one day I was on a work call and the lady got a call and was on the phobe the whole time she was supposedly cleaning, and was so loud i had to take my call outside to leave her room in my room. I would expect that a hotel with so many international visitors would have a stricter cleaning routine especially after the pandemic showed how diseases can be transmitted in lodging areas.
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The Cloud 9 staff were excellent and sang happy birthday for me om my birthday while tje reception staff sent me some drinks. The location is great. Can get to and from rhe airport by metro as it us quite expensive by cab. Hotel is right at a metro and tour bus stop. The sky pool area gives a great view of thr city abd the Acropolis.

GermanyThe rooms were too hot, AC was centrally set to warm the rooms and you couldnt change it. It was warm outside (21 degrees) and much warmer inside the rooms. My sister had to request a fan for her baby to be able to sleep.
Breakfast was vast and very complete, a huge room with sweet and savory choices, traditional sweets, spinach pie, cheese pastry, very satisfying. The rooftop Restaurant was very good, a bit pricy, with an amazing view to the Parthenon and a pool. The head of the room was so friendly, they brought me a birthday cake and sang happy birthday:) The rooms are new and you cant hear a sound from the square where the hotel is located. There is a metro station just outside the hotel building and a few restaurants in walking distance, we went there and felt completely safe.

GermanyThe Stanley Hotel is situated very well to reach all the sights in Athens easily. There is a metro stop and a stop for the hop on hop off busses just outside. From the rooftop you can see the hill with the acropolis. The pool area is nice to relax and enjoy the sun. The restaurant has very good food and the staff is very friendly.
