Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThese are really negative points, just think to consider that could strongly influence your stay. 1. I'm 189cm tall and found navigating the sleeping situation a bit awkward. I took up the entire length of the capsule. Maybe consider the bungalow for more space. That said, I was still able to sleep very well 2. The showers are centrally located like a typical hostel. Again, this is just something to be aware of, but it's fine and as I mentioned it is kept consistently clean
The location was particularly good for me as it made Hiking Acatenango through Soytours very straight forward. A pick up point was close by and the hostal kept my things overnight for when I returned from the hike (I had booked to continue my stay with them) It was a quiet stay and I was extremely thankful for that as the hike was tiring! I especially liked the simple breakfast of watermelon hot drinks, and pancakes. It was plentuful and on time Azucena even prepared it 30 min early to accommodate my early morning wake up before the Acatenango hike. Thank you. The toilets, showers, and other communal areas are regularly cleaned. Towels are available for free too.

United KingdomNot an issue for us, but if it has been a hot temperature I think the glamping area could be too hot even with the fan as it acts like a greenhouse in the sun. There was some noise from the gym and music school but this was only during the day and did not disturb our sleep
Friendly staff who let us leave our bags early after doing Acantenago. We stayed in the 'eco bungalows' Glamping and would recommend. It rained a lot during our stay and we kept dry. The communal outdoor kitchen is really nice and allowed us to meet with other travelers. The shower was one of the best I have used in Guatemala, good pressure and temperature.

CanadaOwner and staff were very welcoming. Transit in and out of antigua was arranged for a fair price. Location is quiet and convient short walk to the main area. It's not a social hostel but a very clean and convenient one. I opted for the glamping dome. It was comfortable and clean

United StatesNot a knock, but scrambled eggs with breakfast would have blown my expectations even more threw the roof.
We rented one of the igloo pods in the back. I LOVED that it was in GRASS (open grass is hard to find here), and lots of natural light in the Igloo. Plazuela San Sebastián (across the street) is my new favorite park in the city. Also comes with fresh PANCAKES in the morning!?

GermanyI booked the Acatenango hike with them (which I highly recommend in and of itself) and they stored my unecessary belongings for that time and let me use their facilities again when I came back.... Even though I just stayed and paid for one night. Very friendly service :)

United KingdomWifi was ok, but kept dropping out in the dorm. Found the wifi to be better where the sofas are. Whilst the pods are nice, it appears the majority of them don’t have doors (mine did, but I asked for one with a door) they’re also not sound proof.
Decent location but a little walk into the centre of Antigua, super warm showers which was very much appreciated after finishing the Acatenango hike. Breakfast is nice, unlimited cereal and pancakes. They offer a laundry service for between Q50-80 (weight dependent)

AustraliaThe dorms have these 'Japanese pods' which give them a real spaceship style. You can close the sliding door completely with a card and therefore wouldn't even need a locker. Every bed has a fan, light, charging, mirror, etc. Only downside is that the card makes noises to open and the sliding doors are quite loud as the whole 'box' is plastic. Coming home every night at 1am I'm pretty sure I woke up some people in my room with it. I realized that I've been actually lucky as most of the other rooms have no doors or curtains at the beds and people would put a sheet to get some privacy. Location is good: bout 5-10 minutes walk to the street market, to the square with street food, supermarket, ATM, salsa school, las Palmas bar etc. Bathrooms with hot shower, and kitchen with everything you'll need (no oven). ..all clean and spacious. Breakfast (fruit, instant pancakes with sirup, fruit, cornflakes and milk, coffee, tea) included. It runs out super quick and I learned the first morning that I have to actively tell the people working there that there's literally nothing left and ask them politely but vehemently for any food. Staff is friendly but lacks attendance from time to time. The 24-7 reception is great- giving you the possibility to explore bars and clubs and cone late or leave early for any tour or shuttle.

United KingdomAll good.
Great location. Staff very good. Beds comfy, like the idea of the pod type, but could be a little noisy due to cheap plastic, but ok, although no curtain at end so fashion your own! Hot showers, but limited space to put clothes. Kitchen well equipped, but only 1 chopping board. Good breakfast. Good place to stay

AustraliaThe property is further from the main area of Antigua, but is really only a 20min walk away. Wifi was a bit patchy in the cabana area, but still worked with some drop outs here and there
The cabanas are away from communal areas, meaning they are quiet and peaceful. The showers had great water pressure and were clean. They also let us store our luggage for a night while we did a trip to Lake Atitlan
