The dorm was off the main reception area. You could hear people talking late at night. Anyone coming in has to ring the doorbell, and you hear that too. The bunks are not big enough to sit up in but the beds are comfortable.

Nice area and quiet considering it was fairly close to a major road.

Loved my stay at Don Cenobio hostel. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The rooms and bedding are nice and clean plus the shower is hot! The breakfasts are amazing and you can even get a packed meal if you are leaving early on a trip or checking out early. It's right on the water and it's truly a magical place to stay.

Only thing to be aware of is that guests are not allowed to use the kitchen which is slightly misleading as it says there is a kitchen available on booking.com. I just wanted to use the fridge for some leftovers I had bought from their restaurant and they said it was not possible…

We loved this hostel! It’s right on the lake so has beautiful views from the rooftop bar. It’s not a party hostel but still has a chill social atmosphere as you can have a drink, play pool, and relax on the rooftop. The dorms are really comfortable - we had a 6 bed with a private bathroom. Each bed had curtains, power socket, lamp and a small locker to store valuables. The included breakfast is great (you can order from 4 options on the menu), and we loved that you could order a lunchbox instead if you were doing one of the early tours to Tikal.

I truly enjoyed my stay and came back for another night. There are various hostels/ hotels around Flores, but this is really well designed and very comfortable. Clean, nice receptionists, bathroom areas are very well maintained and clean. Location is perfect. Beds have very comfy mattresses and you have a small locker near your bed to keep your valuable things there. The curtains on each bed add for extra comfort.

Really the place to stay on the island of Flores! It overlooks the lake! The boats to reach to the other end of the lake are at the doorstep, literally. The terrace upstairs a big plus, you can watch sunsets/ sunrises over the lake. Beds are very comfy. Dorms are build with a practical mindset: you have plugs, a lamp, safety box, curtains on each bed, which helps on the privacy level. Bathrooms are clean Lovely ladies at reception when I checked in and also a very nice man working night shifts who always helped me getting the deposit for my towel back. There are many hostels around the island, but this is the one to stay at.

Breakfast and lunch were included but didn’t quite live up to expectations—both the quality and quantity were a bit disappointing, and it felt like a cheaper version of what’s usually on the menu. Also, tours and transfers booked through the hostel were a bit pricier than going directly through local providers (understandable, but worth noting).

Great location with a lovely view over the water from the terrace. The room was small but practical, with well-working air conditioning. The staff was very thoughtful—during our stay there was a party planned right by the terrace (next to our room), and they messaged us well in advance to let us know, even offering a free cancellation if we preferred. The shower was great (though only one was working), and the 24/7 reception was a plus. Bonus: there’s a super sweet dog on the property!

Staff could be a bit more friendly but they were very helpful via WhatsApp. Lamps and a shelf by the bed would be a nice addition, along with curtains for the bunks.

Absolutely lovely terrace overlooking the lake which catches the early morning sun. Beautiful views. The whole place is clean, good showers, nice plants etc so it’s pleasant to walk around. Great location but Flores is tiny so that bit is quite easy! Beds were large and comfy.

While I was there the water filter was broken so there was no water available. I suppose this was a one off and that it was fixed the next day.

I was on top bunk - would have been nice to have the bed against the wall so stuff can’t fall down. Bed seemed a bit short (I’m 5’11) Wifi wasn’t great in the room There was quite a bit of noise from outside while in bed - it’s near the boat launch and you can hear motorcycles, boats, and talking Weird hours for tours so everyone is on a different schedule, sometimes making noise at 2:30am (not the hostels fault, just the reality of it- probably same anywhere) Bigger locker would be nice but you can lock your valuables so that’s great A fan would be nice too :)
