Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesA bit removed from the main area - ok if you like quiet, but if looking for more action this place is not for you. The hotel is built in the old style, so the rooms are a bit cold. Overall, a bit pricey for what you get.
The hotel is located in a gated part of Antigua - a bit removed from the main city. The staff were friendly and the stay included breakfast.

BelgiumIt could maybe be a bit more “entertaining” with options to take the tea during the day, activities to do around, options to have dinner there. Maybe we didn’t ask enough questions.
Well-located within a condominium (guarded), very quiet, large rooms and super friendly staff! Breakfast was simple but tasty. We also loved the traditional architecture an hacienda with fountain.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. Only a note to say that this is in an area accessed only through big gates with security. This makes it super safe but I hadn’t read the details properly so we were confused. Make sure you make a note of the code they send you!
This was such a lovely hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the common areas are beautiful. I could have sat by the pool all day.

United Statesi honestly cannot say anything negative about this hotel.
this is the most safe and secure hotel i have ever stayed at. its inside a private community and you need to give your information before entering. you will feel extremely safe to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery inside. the security guards are extremely kind and take pride in keeping the place safe. inside is extremely clean and full of beautiful flowers. amazing views of volcanos especially from the second level of hotel. staff are extremely kind and they are very responsive and helpful with messages.

United StatesIt was very difficult to obtain access to the hotel as we had to go through a security checkpoint. The guards were somewhat on edge about our request to enter the hotel and not very courteous. We provided passport information and had a code to enter, but they seemed very skeptical. Also, when you leave you are asked to sign out with your name and code number.
It was an enchanting hotel that had very nice amenities: delicious ala carte breakfast, swimming pool with towels provided, stunning landscaping, wonderful antiquities, laundry service and views from the rooftop!

United StatesI was put off by being treated rudely by a security guard at the gate when I first arrived. He took my passport and left me waiting, sitting in a taxi after a 3 hour drive. He asked me ridiculous questions, such as when I booked my hotel reservation. I had no idea and had to call the hotel to ask. They did not have the information, either. I was left waiting with my passport out of my sight for 15 minutes. It was infuriating. I never encountered the security guard again, and the rest of the security staff were friendly when walking in and out. I wished the room had a small fridge and an AC unit. My room had no window onto the courtyard, so I had to use a noisy fan for air circulation. There was a window in the bathroom that provided fresh air. The rooms and bathroom are nicely decorated, but the toilet roll dispenser looks like it should be in a public bathroom at a train station. It looked out of place and unattractive.
The staff are amazing - Angel, Enrique, and Sarah - stand out for being most welcoming and helpful in every way. Sarah's restaurant recommendations were all stellar. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. I loved the terrace on the roof and the outdoor spaces and pool. The breakfast was pretty good, too. I liked the remoteness and quiet of the gated community free from the sounds and pollution from traffic in downtown Antigua.

IsraelIt is a good hotel in Antigua, Guatemala. The hotel is in a spacious property, with a beautiful patio where breakfast is served and it is a cozy space for the guests all day long. The hotel is located in a private neighborhood with security guards in the entrance. It makes the stay in the hotel safer, but getting in through the front gate can take a few minutes. The hotel provides a secret code, but ever after we showed it, the guards took their time and double checked us before letting us in. The gate is a few minutes walk from the hotel, and not all Uber drivers where allowed to enter with there vehicle. Breakfast is very good with nice choice between Guatemalan, American etc.

CanadaIt was a little bit annoying having to go through the security gates of the complex that the hotel is located in, but we only ever waited a couple of minutes to get in or out. And it wouldn't deter me from staying there again. The guards at the gates only speak spanish, so make sure you have a few words of spanish to get you by. The hotel breakfast was not very tasty, even though we tried a few of their options. But good portion size.
The hotel was great! Such a beautiful courtyard and shared space, with lots of plants. Having a pool was great to cool off on the hot days. The bed was really comfortable. Free access to water coolers of purified water was a good bonus, so we didn't need to keep buying water. And staff were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
