The location is terrific. You can walk thru the forest or on the concrete path. Nature is at your fingertips. The food at the restaurant is really good. It's gourmet type, but the taste is really good. You can enjoy the Temazcal (steam room), the pool, gym or get a massage.

Waiters are not so great. Some are very pleasant, attentive, respectful and have a good understanding of their job. Some of them need more training on the job. My wife and I were left unattended for so long that we had to walk over to the kitchen to ask for assistance more than once. First time we needed more coffee, second time the waiter promised to bring hot sauce, but he never came back not even to apologize. Another issue that I am still trying to resolve is that somehow I was charged twice on my credit card for my stay. I am working with Mgr. Marisol, but the processing is very slow. They have admitted the double charge on my account, but it seems to be something they have trouble processing because it is taking a while. I hope it can be resolved soon. I have stayed about five times at this hotel and I like the place with its imperfections, but this will be the last thing can happen for me not to be back.

This hotel is a piece of heaven in the middle of a village near Cobán. The rooms are spacious, decorated exquisitely with local textiles and beds are dressed with premium linen. The property is massive! I loved the open plan gym, the pool and visiting the deers. The restaurant is delicious and staff are always willing to help. Be curious about local context and Guatemalan history. That will give you a clue about why there is a German flag at the front of the property.

The road that leads to the hotel is quite damaged and it can get swampy and hard to drive through during rainy season. It is a bit of a detour on your way to Cobán (but worth the stay). There was a function at the restaurant during our stay and the staff were overwhelmed with work. Unfortunately they struggled to prepare the spa for a massage appointment that we had booked 24 hrs in advance. Also, the shower in our room didn't seem to drain properly and there was a massive puddle left after every shower. There is very little mobile reception and wifi is unstable and unavailable at times. Be mindful of this if you're planning yo do any remote work.

    Property response:

Dear guest, thank you for taking the time and share your comments about your stay, we send our apologies for the inconveniences and we will give follow up. Thank you Alejandra
