How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewMagnificent property, very well keep! The rooms were big and very comfortable. The bed was a little bit too hard for my taste. New sheets and towels and very clean. The restaurant food was really good and the staff very kind

Verified reviewThe rooms were spacious and comfortable. The shower was warm and clean, the bathroom is separated by a door which is nice for multi person use of room. The restaurant was decent and reasonably priced for being in a secluded environment. The pool was large and warm, hotel provided easy access to towels and drinking water via the bar.

Verified reviewThe place was so nice and relaxing. Beautiful place to spend time with the family in nature. Loved the pool, the trails around the lagoon and the decks to hang out and relax. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive. Overall, I would come back.
It's a bit far from Flores, so if you are going to activities in Flores it may be a bit expensive to get around. Every shuttle costs $20 one way and $20 back.

Verified reviewAlmost everything, rooms were beautiful, good food, beautiful landscape, and a great location
In the rooms, there was no coffee machine, no tea, and no shampoo or conditioner. This for me are in a must in this type of hotels.

Verified reviewThe view of this place was amazing, with all the animals around it was great. You were alone but keep in mind it is at least 200Q to the center of Flores (and almost no tours pick you up from that hotel) Room was comfortable and with AC. Pool is bigger than in the picture.
The pool could be cleaned from all the leaves again in the afternoon. Food from the restaurant was too expensive, especially since you‘re almost „stuck“ there because it is far away from the city center. Also what bothered us, is that for a bottle of water (0.5L) you had to pay 12Q + tip of 10% even if you got it yourself. You should organize a little fridge where it should be possible to get it cheaper and without the unnecessary tip.

Verified reviewit is really good environment for vacation,
you'd better rent a car. Otherwise, this would not be suitable for you to stay. since single way transportation to the island would be $15. And almost no tour will pick up from this location.

Verified reviewGreat stay at this beautiful property. The views are beautiful, the rooms are very nicely decorated and the staff is very nice. The only inconvenience was that is was quite far from the centre of Flores which made excursions quite complicated. I would recommend them to set up a shuttle service as an extra service to the guests to facilitate visits and excursions.

Verified reviewThe place is located in the heart of nature, next to a lovely lake. The rooms are of a high standard and the restaurant and bar are excellent. Entering and exiting the resort costs a lot of money. And this should be taken into account if you are planning to travel.

Verified reviewThe hotel was surrounded by nature and we enjoyed the easy access to other activities, such as bike riding. The trail was nice and scenic.
On the day of arrival, our requested shuttle did not show up on time at the airport. When I called reception to ask about this, the lady was unpleasant and dismissive, saying that the shuttle had been scheduled for 7:20pm yet this time had already passed. We waited for 15-20 mins at the airport before the driver arrived with a misspelt sign of my name and didn’t bother helping us with our luggage. This entire start to our stay felt very careless and made me worry about the quality of service the hotel would provide. It didn’t help that the same lady was waiting for us at reception and was very curt and unfriendly, even though this lack of attention and organization had caused us unnecessary stress. Thankfully the rest of the staff (including later receptionist) were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating.

Verified reviewEverything, we stayed more days and still had to pay for another accomodation. There was a crocodile to watch at breakfast. The food was good, the lake view, room and shared spaces were great, quiet and well designed. Clean, staff were friendly. We were a little concerned it was a little far from Flores but it was perfect, only a ten minute drive and easy to get to Tikal
