How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Our apartment was cozy, well-equipped, and ideally located just steps from a beautiful, serene beach. The sea was a stunning shade of azure, and the small beaches were always clean and peaceful. What truly made our stay special was the kindness and attentiveness of the apartment owners, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and memorable holiday. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing escape — perfect for those looking to unwind and enjoy a quieter, more personal seaside experience.

Verified reviewWe loved this apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is in a family run house with just a few other apartments. It was spacious, well equipped and had a decent sized balcony with very comfortable chairs. We received a very warm welcome and a gift of beer, juice and gorgeous homemade cake. There are a couple of bars and restaurants nearby and a small but well stocked shop.

Verified review- hosts were really lovely people. They greeted us with some beer and some home made cake :) we also got from them some home made delicacies as a goodbye gift. - a couple of lovely, secluded beaches in the area, with crystal clear sea water - fantastic views from the terrace - Vinjerac was a lovely village, not too crowded, just one shop (quite expensive so you need to drive 20-30mins to a nearby supermarket to get better prices) and a couple of restaurants. Some may find it boring, but it was PERFECT for us :) we definitely want to come back there - comfortable, large bed
It hurts my heart to write that, because the hosts were really lovely and we loved Vinjerac itself :) but there were a couple of things that caused us some minor pain: - air conditioning had an unpleasant smell, so we couldn't really use it - washing mashine was available but it had a leak - WiFi was a bit spotty, but this is kind of understandable in a small place like Vinjerac

Verified reviewHosts are lovely people, who even invited us to superb dinner at the end of our stay. Apartment was clean with a nice view. Cake and beer/juice ready in the fridge was great and much appreciated after long drive! Vinjerac is tiny, but beautiful with not too many people. We had no problem finding more remote beaches where we could stay with our dog.

Verified reviewThe balcony was large and had a nice view. Flexible check-in times possible because the parents of the host live in the same house. The hosts prepared a nice cookie platter as a welcoming gift. 2 beers and an orange juice were provided in the fridge.
Dont expect a cute or luxurious appartment. The current rating (9.6) is strongly overrated for the appartment we got. (Watch out: they have 2 appartments; the pictures they uploded almost all came from one appartment which has a large living room and a full kitchenette). Only the last 4 pics (out of ~50) show the appartment we actually stayed in (the less professional pictures in a reddish hue). Air-conditioner / heater is unusually noisy. Hairs from previous guests in the bathroom. Bring your own hairdryer. Ant street across the entire bed room to the kitchen.

Verified reviewLocation is perfect for the people who do not like crowded places. Room was nice and excellently prepared. The host was wonderful and welcomed us as a family. Small lovely town with a clear water in the sea. Not far from many interesting places. Overall very good quality/price choice.
Maybe the bathroom could be a bit better but that's a problem for many apartments.
