How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewProperty location is awesome and within few min walking distance from old town. Everything is nearby. Property was very clean and nice with comfortable beds. We enjoyed a lot. In future we plan to come again as we fell in love with the city.
In the night there was some loud music from the bar next door. For us it was not a problem but those who need a peaceful place, It’s advisable to bring earplugs.

Verified reviewThe location is the best part. You are within the reach and proximity of public transport, 5 mins walking distance to Riva. The only drawback is the loud music from the bar next door. It runs until 1:00 to 2:00 am. So go with some earplugs for noise reduction.

The only problem with this accomodation is the noise from the bar next door that goes on until 2 and 3 am, thumping house music wasn't condusive to a good nights sleep

Verified reviewYou can't beat the location. Right in the old town, near everything (10mn walk to the bus station). The apartment was very well equipped and comfortable. Tina was very nice and gave me great recommendations. I also really appreciated that despite giving her my early arrival time on the day, she had the apartment ready before check-in time and allowed me in.
The apartment is next to a bar, so the ground floor is quite noisy between the music and the people talking. You don't hear much from the bedrooms though, so I had no issues sleeping (I always wear ear plugs when traveling).

Verified reviewApartment was in a great location. Very close to the center of Old Town Split. Many restaurants and bars right outside. Easy walk to the beach and Marina to catch our boat trips. Apartment was very clean and nice for me and my family. Host was great and worked with us for an early check in because we had an early morning flight into Split. This was not an issue for us but I do want to mention that there are some bars/restaurants right outside the apartment and it can be loud late into the night. This is something I noticed but did NOT disturb me or my families sleep at all....Just a WARNING for those that may not like that.

Little sleep due to noisy bars next door. specialise in back packers bars so lots of students. music stopped around 2am then road sweepers started at 7:30am. steep staircases so not good for children and creaking floors due to age of property. such a shame this lovely location was spoilt by inconsiderate bars next door and with it being a cut through, lots of people walking through the street all hours.
