Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandJust a small dislike. The lack of Black Tea for breakfast. But the green tea on offer was excellent.
The Location was excellent. Cavtat village is a really nice place. The rooms at the hotel were very comfortable. I had a room on the second floor at the front of hotel with a lovely view of the sea and nice balcony. I had a double room and the rest of my family had a family room. We had breakfast early each morning. The breakfast was adequate. I would stay in Hotel Cavtat on my next visit to Croatia.

United KingdomIt could be quite confusing to navigate around the hotel as it is split into two sections. My only other niggle was they despite booking a superior room (which it was) it overlooked a building site!
Perfect location and only a short boat/taxi into Dubrovnik. Hotel is more than adequate for a few days. Breakfast buffet was good, staff lovely and it was very clean.

United KingdomMy only hesitation is that as the season begins to pick up I fear the pool and restaurant are not big enough to accommodate all guests for a hotel of its size which is you are paying summer rates I would not be impressed with. The pool area is small for the size of the hotel and there is no shade with it being rooftop. This all said we went before the season had officially begun, we could see everyone getting everything ready around the town for influx of guests arriving in the summer so there may well be provisions in place for this that we aren't aware of.
I have stayed in Cavtat in April for the last three years running now and adore the town, however have always stayed in a private villa with family. As this trip was just myself and my partner we decided to book Hotel Cavtat. We stayed in a room with balcony and sea view, breakfast was included and paid around £280 for 3 nights. The hotel was very clean and contemporary, the pictures are an accurate reflection of the hotel. Staff were friendly and food was good, although we only had breakfast here. Location is very good, having stayed in various accommodation on the town this is ideal to walk into town or round the corner from the beach. Lots of amenities very close by (5/10 min walk). If you stay here you are about 15 minutes by car from the airport.

United KingdomSometimes struggled to find an empty table at breakfast as it was busy and staff were slow at clearing tables. Evening meal had very little choice. Rooms were quite warm and too early in season for a/c. Not much information on locality and how to get around.
Very good choice at breakfast. Location of hotel was exceptional, with a lovely view of the bay you never tired of. Great WiFi.

United States of AmericaThat we had stayed there longer! More open hours at the spa.
After being jammed into Walled Cities and paying top dollars for mediocre hotels with concaved mattresses, Hotel Cavtat was a joy. Our experience with Hotel Cavtat was a 4+. The service was impeccable. We took the hotel because it was close to Dubrovnik's airport and frankly not very costly, so we weren't expecting much. What a wonderful surprise! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and modern. Our hotel room looked like it had a recent renovation, with attractive modern furniture. The room on the first floor and when the sliding glass window was closed, we didn't hear a sound outside our room. All the amenities were of higher quality than we expected. The bedding was top quality, (400 thread.) The shower and water pressure were great. The restaurant and poolside snack shack were lovely. The Spa was great. We also enjoyed walking down the boardwalk and checking out all the quaint restaurants and shops. It's easy to grab a water taxi to do Dubrovnik (10 minute boat ride that lets you off right by the Walled City). The money you save staying at Hotel Cavtat is pretty substantial. The ride to the airport was about 15 minutes and about 20 Euros.

United KingdomBreakfast was very busy with long queues for coffee machines when most guests just wanted hot water. A separate hot tap or Urn would alleviate this. Hotel should think about giving guests time slots so that everyone doesn't arrive at 9am. We booked a double bed room but were given a twin with beds pushed together but reception were very good and gave us a free late checkout to compensate.
Stylish rooms with comfy beds. Modern and spacious bathroom. Location right on the sea front with roped off swimming area but no beach as such.
