Next to the church, so the bells were ringing from 6 a.m. We arrived at 10 p.m. and there was no one there, the property was closed so we had to call the owner to come and check us in. Very expensive, giving the fact that the property is situated in an isolated village, in the countryside. Poor breakfast, even though the owner was promoting each product as being eco. We come from a country where Prince Charles is coming each year and enjoying out bio products, so this aspect was not impressive. Furthermore, even though we are a family of 3, we got the same quantity of food (e.g. omelette) as one single person sitting alone at one of the other tables.

We were promised a first floor room with air con (I specifically requested this due to a knee issue). We were given a second floor room with no air con with the explanation that he had to juggle bookings and so change our room. The room was an average size but offered nowhere to put luggage and had only 1 small window about .75x.75metre maximum There was a fan on a stand that didnt work well and as it was 32 degrees the room was unbearably hot. We had access to a shared lounge room downstairs that had air con but it had only a 2 seat sofa bed and a 4 seat table and an older style TV (don't know if it worked but it didnt matter as we don't usually watch TV on holidays) and the air con was not great. It certainly did not cool our room on the next floor up (and even if it did fikter up we had to shut our door because it was a public area). Our habit is to spend the day visiting places and return to our cool room in the heat of tbe day before venturing out again in the late afternoon. This simply was not an alternative instead we found air conditioned cafes and drive around in our car with air con. All this cost extra money and given the room was $150 a night it made for a very expensive and disappointing 2-night stay. Also the showerscreen and shower head need repairing and the shower does not drain properly. Dining in was a nice single-option meal but we could never establish what we were being charged. For the money we could have stayed on the coast in a good room.

Liked old town location and gave good access to northern part of Istria. The bed was comfortable. Staff made an effort to share local knowledge. Breakfast was lovely especially sitting outside.
