When booking the hotel says it has air conditioning but it only has heating no air conditioning for cooling. Turns out here was a sliding grates door to keep good airflow.

The hotel exceeded all of our expectations. Travelling as a family with 2 small children, the hotel had so much to offer in terms of play areas and kids activities. It really is unmatched, I have never seen such a well thought of concept of a family hotel. We recommend this hotel to all families

My stay at the hotel in Makarska was truly fantastic. The location was outstanding, offering easy access to the beach and its beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was not only extensive but also incredibly delicious, with options catering to various dietary needs, including those for Coeliacs. It was the perfect way to start each day. The hotel's amenities were exceptional. The 25m indoor pool was a gem for fitness enthusiasts, while the gym and sauna facilities were top-notch, providing relaxation and fitness opportunities. The outdoor infinity pool was delightful, featuring plenty of comfortable day beds to choose from, I even had a spontaneous water aerobics session, which turned out to be a fun and refreshing experience. Afterward, I treated myself to a well-deserved gin and tonic by the poolside :). Overall, my time at the Makarska hotel was an absolute delight. From the convenient location to the yummy breakfast, excellent amenities, and enjoyable poolside moments, it was a memorable experience.

The infinity pool is exceptional! The food is better than in any restaurant in Makarska- so I definetely recommend half board. The staff is soooo nice. The beach is some meters away and the town is 5min away. We loved everything!

While there is a kids pool, a lot of kids come to the normal pool and play there. I wish they would have a section just for adults because having kids jump and scream and play games in the pool does not give you much space to just swim and relax.

The location of the hotel is amazing, and they truly have everything you need on the property. It is definitely worth the money. Also, the staff were so nice and accommodating. It made the stay even better.

The beach down the hotel is very crowded. However, there is enough space by the pool. Also, the price is a bit high....

The breakfast is really amazing! A lot of options and also warm dishes. There's something for everyone. The pool is really nice and the staff was friendly. Room is also good, but the bathroom is a bit old-fashioned. However, it was very clean.

The room was rather small, but I still rate the hotel with a 10 as the facilities and services are extraordinary!!! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

Though the location Makarska is way too crowded for us and we will not return here, the hotel made it still a very nice holiday. A 10!!! They are friendly, all of them and all the time. Your wish is their demand. We celebrated our daughter's birthday here and they made a special day of it, thank you so much! Pool area is clean and has all you can wish for.

We were travelling with a large group of family and friends. The staff was super helpful and Maja the concierge exceeded all our expectations and solved all kinds of problems for the group. The hotel has many pretty venues for private events and all food and services were excellent too. We will come back for sure!

The dinner buffet. It was kinda dissappointing. Food was not tasty and not so many variety. Breakfast time finishes early even on weekends and early check out too.

IT IS BEACHFRONT. The hotel was perfectly located in front of Makarska beach and a lot of restaurants and pubs nearby. Very convenient with market places and pharmacy closeby. Walking distance to the port. Staff was helpful and very friendly. There is also a Casino in the hotel for those who like to plurge.

My only negative was the bed, they really need to work out a solution to make the twins into a king-size bed better, the beds kept on moving apart and the bathroom could use an update. This is a family friendly hotel, so our room catered to that, I would suggest that there are more couples/Adult focused rooms as well.

We had a wonderful time at Valamar in Makarska, the hotel was excellent. Having traveled all over the world staying at many famous hotels, I can say, that Valamar Hotel offers the world's BEST breakfast, It was amazing! The location is perfect, and we really enjoyed our stay. The Staff were wonderful and attentive, always smiling and welcoming. I can't wait to return to Valamar Makarska!

The pool water was too cold, it's good for swimming but not for just relaxing in the pool. Overall it's still overpriced. When paying 500 Euros for 2 days I expect to have a small free mini bar and complimentary water in the room, both was not the case. I really enjoyed my time there but given the prize I would not book it again.

Overall good hotel. Food buffet was exceptionally good. Pool along the promenade is also amazing.
