Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPaying cash for the meals wasn't ideal but otherwise I have nothing to complain about.
We loved the location with it being so close to the national park. The hot tub was great after a long hike. The food was incredible. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

This is a real gem. Lovely comfy & cosy rooms, very friendly staff. It’s worth getting the breakfast and multi course dinner here before a day of walking the lakes. My favourite thing about the Villa was actually the beautiful art work of the lakes and waterfalls all around the corridors

United KingdomCommunication with the hosts were poor before the stay. I sent a few messages through booking.com but never got an answer.
Unfortunately I did not have much time to enjoy the facilities, as we were passing by and only stayed one night. But I loved the hotel. There is a sauna and jacuzzi available for use at any time. The room was comfy, the location was super quiet and it is very convenient after or before a day at the Plitvice Lakes National Park. There is plenty of good restaurants in the area as well. The hosts are a lovely couple that make everything they can to make you feel at home.

FranceNothing really
Everything from the venue itself to the staff who were very kind and helpful! The place is near entrance 1 and not far from good places to eat at night like the Petar Konoba nearby! After a long day of hiking you can rest in a very comfy sauna and Jacuzzi ! It's a must do !

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like!
Villa Mukinja, located in a beautiful village near Entrance 2 for Plitvice Park. Parking is free, plentiful, and right outside the villa which was great as we had a hire car. It is spotlessly clean and the hosts are so welcoming. Our bed was very comfy with fresh cotton linen making for a sound night sleep. Breakfast was plentiful, continental with the option of having eggs too, these were delicious! One morning we had tasty cakes too and the next freshly cooked pancakes The hot tub was an added bonus after a long day exploring and we were even offered drink service and they turned off the lights for us to see the stars, an extra special touch as it was our wedding anniversary, which they did not know at the time. They really made us feel at home, bringing blankets outside to ensure we were warm while enjoying the slightly cooler evenings and shared some delicious cake and mandarins with us while chatting. We regret not getting your names, but thank you for making our first couple days in Croatia very special. We hope to be back and will highly recommend Villa Mukinja.

SlovakiaNothing negative or serious, I just thing that the entrance to the lakes is a little bit further than 10 min walking distance - I would say 15 minutes without and 20 minutes with children. Still a very good location without the need to pay extra for parking.
We had a lovely one-night stay before our trip to Plitvice lakes. The owners are extremly kind and helpful, the room had everything we needed for such a short stay. The appartment had a one big room with a balcony and TV, one bathroom and one small room not divided by doors with one king size bed and one twin bed. There was an option to order a four course dinner with local food which is awesome, but we had a late arrival with small children, so we haven't had a chance to try it (although the owners were very willing to wait for us, we had to eat earlier on the road). Breakfast on the other hand was very tasty and generous for such a small villa with only a couple of visitors. Our children weren't very keen on sitting behind the table and waiting for us to finish our meal so me and my husband had to alternate between them and the food. Then came a lady owner and she offered to take our children to play in the garden till we finished eating and drinking coffee. It was such a random act of kindness it almost made me cry :) So thank you again for everything.

CroatiaThe rooms were a bit outdated and the bed was very springy and uncomfortable. There was a strong flowery cleaner smell. But very clean. We had made reservations with them to eat there for dinner but when we arrived the kitchen was closed/chef was out of town. A bit of a bummer after a long drive as we would’ve stopped somewhere along the way, had we known.
The owners family were wonderful and we had great conversations with them, they were SO kind and took good care of us, even giving us some food to go for our hike. Breakfast was excellent!

CanadaCompletely newly renovated room in a largish (3-4 rooms? guessing here) family-run guest house. Very tastefully decorated. Tile in bathroom was very fun. Plentiful towels, great shower and shower stall, large comfy bed and mattress. Large outdoor seating area with very complete outdoor kitchen to die for! It rained when we were there so this was underused by us. Hottub and outdoor shower was a lovely plus. We did not use sauna, but had we stayed another night after walking in the park, we surely would have. In house dinner (pay extra) was unexpected and convenient-- they accommodated my preferences for vegetarian food no issues. First time grilled mushrooms in Croatia which was a plus-- love those with the other grilled veggies! Pleasant and helpful owner and wife (who surfaced from child care to help make dinner). Apparently you could walk 15 min to the park gate #2, but we ended up driving there as 4 hours walking in the park itself was enough!

SlovakiaWe would suggest installing mosquito nets on the balcony door so we could air the room without letting the bugs inside🤗
The place is nice and clean, you can see the host family really takes care of it. They even let us store some of our food in their refrigerator (we did not realize the rooms do not have one). The sauna and jakuzzi are a big plus as well as the location - just a short walk to Plitvicke jazera
