Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryI recently purchased this wellness holiday as a birthday present for my 20-year-old nephew and his girlfriend. It was a first time that they had stayed in a hotel as grown ups. On arrival the receptionists were confused when they required assistance with the (paid!) parking, and seemed unable to explain where to park. After a nice spa-afternoon they went for dinner, one hour before the restaurant was expected to close (according to the website). They were the only guests in the restaurant and the waiting staff were clearly frustrated that they had to serve them, rather than finish early. There were about 10 staff present in all and they made loud comments, complaining about to each other, such that my family could hear. Nobody served them drinks, despite all of them standing around with nothing to do. My nephew had to stand up after 10-15 minutes at the bar and asked for drinks, which obviously cost extra money. This is not the way to make guests feel special. When my nephew asked for a serving spoon the bald waiter guy with glasses just pointed in the direction of the cutlery without saying a word. After hearing the story, I had to say that I have never experienced such rude and unprofessional behaviour in any hotel or restaurant in any part of the world. This hotel staff managed to ruin my nephew's birthday. I found it outrageous, especially given the premium price. There are two types of luxury hotel; genuinely classy with nothing to prove and pride in making the guests feel that they belong or mediocre places trying to show off by belittling guests. The Caramell is the latter, trying to be something it is not. The staff would benefit from some training in a real luxury hotel. The shy 20-year-old guests with generous friends and relatives are the regular guests of the future and should be treated with the same attention as an old guest returning,or the fiftieth time. dr. HungaryThere was an erroneous massage booking from the hotel side. They corrected it immediately but still tried to overcharge us at the end. That should not happen in such a premium facility.
Spa, Sauna, Breakfast and Dinner, quite rooms (with windows closed), very good warm thermal water. We visited off-season during business days, so there was very little trouble.

Hungary-Very uncomfortable sunbeds without cushions, awww. -Limited shade around the outdoor pool. It would be better to plant some trees there instead of to walk on the hot floor. -There was almost NO selection at the buffet from special diet food at breakfast. Lactose free section was: milk, yogurt, butter and cheese. All other main course at dinner and breakfast -included the salads as well- were floating in mayo, ordinary yogurt or milk. … However I wrote to the receptionst via mail about my request of my diet before our arrival and I’ve got a reassuring answer. Last day there was a new chef. He was more helpful, so I’ve got a slice of ‘free of everything’ cake (somehow there was somewhere in the kitchen) at the end of our dinner. (On previous evenings I had no choice to eat from the sweet section anything, unfortunately.)
Many indoor pool, sauna, steam bath- these could be good in the case of bad weather.

HungaryWell, the spa is good but small, crowded. The buffet dinner was not bad but not excellent either. Surprisingly the breakfast buffet was much better for me. Unfortunately, the location is far from the best. It is far from everything. But again: the staff makes this hotel.
The best thing I can tell about the hotel is all the employees' friendliness and helpfulness. Whatever we asked, we got help in a kind manner. That is a feeling I love in a hotel. In addition, the hotel is nice, and we had a very spacious suite well equipped. Of course, it has disadvantages, but you can forgive them because of the staff.

AustriaThe outdoor pool was closed, so we’re some relax rooms. It’s a shame if the lighting is bad due to broken lights in the spa area and nobody’s there to fix it. Traveling with a kid you should know that there’s only a pretty small (indoor) area where teens under 16 are allowed, which is kind of sad.
Nice hotel, maybe not as up to date as it could be, but throughout nicely designed. Good atmosphere thanks to the Asian/ Feng Shui theme.

HungaryPoints that can be improved: - it would be great if there was a pool table as well in the hotel or a game room - during the check-in procedure, the staff could highlight the animation opportunities and if any of them will be cancelled - the furniture in the sauna area and salt room are not the most comfortable ones - the furniture in the room, especially in the bathroom is quite worn out - the restaurant staff could be nicer in the morning and evening service and smile more often - the breakfast menu could have wider choices (fruit salad, varied pastries, ect)
This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star service. All the employees were very friendly and welcoming from the beginning. We had the best sauna séance ever and the masseurs were great and professional too. The spa area is just perfect. It is really cool that you have an opportunity to play bowling as well. The service was exceptional in terms of my dairy free diet, I was able to choose from different choices every day and the staff brought me dairy free cakes every day. I can only recommend this place for a stress-free get away.

Czech RepublicThe bad: The problem is, he doesn't have it. From the attached photos you can see the untidy room I received. Spider webs in the windows, a chair full of dog hair that will stain your clothes, an uncleaned floor, mold in the shower. All the equipment has seen good and prosperous years (including the wallpaper that is falling off the walls). The attitude of the hotel management is good. They offered to clean the room immediately, after the arrival of the management, to move to better rooms. They also tried to compensate for the bad impression with additional attention (free massages, drinks at the company's expense). But that wasn't all. The great kitchen was spoiled by the desserts, which were too cold and so practically tasteless. (I had to ask for them to be heated). I have mixed feelings about the hotel. With a little more preventive effort from the management, it could match the price that is requested. According to my experience, the hotel deserves one or two stars less.
Good and bad The Good: This hotel bills itself as a 4-star hotel. Half board with excellent cuisine. Great thermal pool. Nice swimming pool with interesting architecture. At first glance, a 4-star hotel with everything that goes with it and with above-standard client care.

AustriaThe bright coloured curtains were terrible, especially without any extra blinds on the windows. The staff was unprofessional and unpunctual. The drinks were expensive and the coffee was awful. The hotel is overdue for a renovation. Overall, not a 4 star hotel experience.
Location is nice. The food was okay, but it lacks some variety. The room was spacious. The pools and the saunas are great. Kid's room had a lot of toys for all ages.

AustriaThe only thing I couldn't really understand ( as I go to SPA Hotels often ) that I was not able to get a new towel ( at the end of the day, my towel was completely wet and I wanted to get new one for the next day) and the Lady in SPA Area told me they change towels every 3 days. Also, in Relax room, by Saunas, it would be much better to hear calm music and to decorate a bit more( windows without curtains, too much light for relax room in SPA... ) Same by main pool, a bit less lights, it would give much better relaxing atmosphere...😊
I really like everything; Staff were very kind, room was huge, nice and clean with terrace and nice view over fields. Wellness area was great.I kindly recommend AYURVEDA massage, but the other one I took was also great( Lomi Lomi Hawaii massage), price is more than affordable! I was also surprised how many different, tasty dishes they had to offer in Restaurant.
