The bill was ridiculously complicated, broken down daily into room cost, breakfast cost, service charge, tax, and so on, in Hungarian Forint when we booked in Euros. I have no clue whether we have paid the right amount but we paid a fair bit more than we anticipated compared with the booking price after taking into consideration an upgrade and other expenses. The room was too warm so we didn’t sleep too well. We asked for help to adjust the temperature in the room but the thermostat was just turned down which we had already tried. The A/C wasn’t working in cooling mode, so turning the thermostat down was pointless really.

The room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, great variety. The pool / spa is beautiful. We enjoyed the Executive Club - nice Hungarian wine, decent beer (Dreher Gold) and some international brands of spirits including Bacardi and Johnny Walker. Corinthia is a lovely hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Just wasn’t 5* if honest. The rooms were really dated and could be cleaner Lots of areas of the hotel were disused - felt like a ghost town Left lots of dirty dishes scattered throughout the hallway from discarded room service, we called to have ours picked up but 6 hours later it was still there No major perks to the price point/star rating. Didnt feel luxurious, but didn’t feel budget. So just felt like a normal hotel with a nice spa.

The mattresses, although appeared comfortable at first, quickly became uncomfortable dipping slightly in the middle. However, I believe they are being replaced soon. I had a facial in the spa, which was 'ok' but felt rushed and was not particularly relaxing.

The general standard of customer service in this hotel is excellent. Staff were attentive, happy and polite. The breakfast fare was superb and we couldn't fault the quality of the food served in the restaurant for dinner.

The bed was too soft for my back, I would have appreciated a bit harder mattress. The breakfast was a bit chaos on the first night (easter weekend) and we expected more quality food from a 5*hotel.

The room view was not good, the last night of my stay I found two centipedes on the bed sheets that I reported to the reception, the reception staff didn't know much about public transportation tickets, breakfast buffet could have had more variety.

The building and its facilities, together with the location, create an ideal combination. Food was excellent as well and room very spacious. The concierge was extremely helpful, plus the helpers with the suitcases were also very polite and willing to help.

It was the cheapest but most amazing 5-star hotel I've stayed in. No complaints. Great staff, breakfast, the room was really large. I didn't get to use the spa but I've heard good things. The lobby is very nice, the bar too. A lot of attention to detail everywhere.

The carpet in my room needs to be replaced, and was never really clean during my stay. The hotel is so old, there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom

A grand old hotel in a great location in Budapest, with good access on foot to all of the major sites in town. The grand dame is showing her age a little, but the staff was very professional and helpful- in the style of grand hotels in the past. The walk in shower was really nice.
