It was Independence Day so the day before and the day itself there was a lot of noisy celebrations.

The staff on reception and the porters helping with transportation and luggage were amazing going above and beyond their duties. Although sometimes me speaking English was tricky, everyone did their utmost to help!

If any, it is that the room seems to be old especially the bathroom area. The door handle and part of the mirror were unfortunately rusty. The tap did not work properly and was at the brink of collapsing. Moreover, the toilet did not always flush smoothly. For a hotel rated as 4 stars, I thought it could be better. Therefore I decided to write this detail review.

We enjoyed the space and the strategic location of the hotel from Losari Beach/Street. The toiletries were basic but sufficed. Plus the breakfast offered various options to choose from.

Carpet in the room. Toiletries not up to standard. TV was not working. Had to call technician to come and fix it. Floor towel not given had to ask.

Breakfast restaurant and Chefs are excellent. General atmosphere very good.

We had booked a special offer for 2 Superior Rooms for 2 adults and two grown up kids. When presenting the print out booking.com voucher at the reception, they said that in their system there is only one room booked (for the same price and amount if people!). Asking for a solution, reception staff told us that it's a problem between us and booking.com. Only solution they could offer to us is to sleep with four people in one bed for the full price, or cancel the booking. Do we choose to cancel. When reporting to booking.com customer service, we are still waiting for an answer/explanation after more than two weeks. We ended up having to look for another place (not in booking.com!) for a much higher rate than initially booked at Aryaduta Hotel.

Lots of mosquito in the dining room. You eat and they eat you! Bar does not serve alcohol. It should be described as a cafe

This in not a 4 star hotel. Our marble sink was broken and fixed together with sealant. We asked to move they accommodated us. But the bathroom was still old and sealant was black around taps, Yellow around the toilet. Skirting board was hanging off. On a plus note staff here very professional and helpful.

over priced fir what it is. my room had cracked tiles in bathroom, chair falling apart, stains on carpet and walls. needs a lots of work before it will be the luxury hotel they seem to think they are. I’ve stayed at nicer places in the same part of Makassar for half the price (Expressia Hotel)

The bathroom was filthy...thick black mold around the sink and bath and dirty surfaces everywhere....broken and leaking toilet, and I mean leaking water all over the floor Place needs a major refurbishment...or bulldozed...cockroaches all over the buffet area, especially round the bread and pastry area...terrible state..

The breakfast was average, but it was ok. The staff were excellent. Well dressed. Well groomed...really polite and delivered professional service, couldn't fault the staff..but the premises are in a bad state of repair...broken stuff everywhere...

The property was old, there was leakage in the air conditioning. In addition, breakfast was almost as good as empty and no diversity.

There was some problem with the lifts.

There is a very good Italian restaurant called La Piccolo which is about 5 minutes walk from this hotel. It is the only Western food in Makassar.
