How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No private access to beach.

You’re right the beach itself isn’t private, but after around 5pm most of the day-trippers and snorkel boats leave, and it’s usually just our guests enjoying the bay. That’s when it really feels like your own private beach, quiet and secluded right in front of the villas.

Not the property, but to reach nusa penida is not easy. The port’s ground at nusa penida was rocky, makes it super hard to drag luggage. It’s better to have light or no luggage and go for 1 day. Not worth staying more than a day or 2 max.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay at the domes. Gamat Bay is one of Penida’s most vibrant reefs, so during the day it can be lively with snorkelers and boats. That gave the bay an exciting energy and reminded us how special the reef is. After 4pm though, it becomes completely secluded and feels like your own private beach. The natural setting was a highlight for us. Having coral and trees right at the doorstep made it feel authentic and adventurous. Swimming at high tide was incredible, and at low tide we could carefully explore the reef and spot so much marine life. The currents can be strong at certain times of the day, so the best time for a swim is usually around the tide changes. We were also impressed with the food. The restaurant meals were delicious and well priced, and the amount of in-room minibar options for food and drinks was amazing. It made it so easy to relax and enjoy the place without always needing to head out. Getting down the steps to the domes added to the sense of privacy and seclusion. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Overall, it was a unique and memorable place to stay that we would definitely recommend.
It's so fully booked we couldn't stay longer!

It is somewhat challenging to get to. Fine for us, but if you don't like going up and down steep stairs, then perhaps not the best location for you. We were certainly rewarded for our trek by the quiet beach. We loved it!

Verified reviewAbsolutely beautiful place with a stunning beach view. The room was great, the bathroom was lovely, and everything was very clean. Truly a wonderful stay! :)
Unfortunately, every day dozens of boats and hundreds of people arrive at the beach for snorkeling, so privacy is quite limited. Our room was located next to two fallen trees, which unfortunately blocked the beach view and sunlight — something that was especially important to us. It would also be a good idea to clean the jacuzzi jets from time to time, as an unpleasant smell was coming from them. As for the hammock, adding a cushion would really help — it's quite uncomfortable to lie directly on the ropes. We used the duvet, but even that wasn’t enough. Despite these small inconveniences, the place is definitely worth recommending.

The bathroom smell was a disaster (foul smelling like stools and pie) it was very strong even we couldn’t take shower inside it and even when we informed the staff they just bring air fresheners only and it doesn’t make any difference

The deck offers direct beach access, and each room comes with snorkeling gear. The highlight, though, is the jacuzzi on the deck—perfect for soaking in the views of Gamat Bay. Snorkeling is a breeze here thanks to the calm waters, and you’ll spot vibrant corals, colorful fish, and even adorable turtles. We truly didn’t want to leave. It’s ideal for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway in Nusa Penida, especially since many of the other popular beaches can get very crowded. While there is a bit of a trek to reach the resort and the road is quite bumpy, the hotel staff takes care of your luggage, making the journey hassle-free. Highly recommend—100%!
