United KingdomThe location is just off a busy road which you can spend a lot of time in traffic! The indonesian breakfast and french toast was not the best. However, the italian food I had was decent. I was looking to stay longer at the hotel but within 30 minutes of enquiring the bookings price had jumped 1.5 million IDR which was pretty crazy. The reception staff were very apologetic but this was not their fault.
The Gran Melia is a stunning hotel, its huge and the hotel is beautiful. The staff were incredible and dealt with all my requests promptly. I even asked for some flowers for my girlfriend last minute before I arrived and when I turned up there were roses in my room and a tiramisu. The staff at the front desk were exceptional. All the staff made me feel special and safe. The hotel had a great vibe and provided music in the evenings. The cleaners did a good job and room service was more than often good. The room facilities were fantastic, the whole room and view was stunning. It was truly a special place to stay.

IndonesiaMe and my son were there for a staycation since we did not have plan to go abroad or out of town. Upon checked in, we got a pleasent surprise from the Guest Experience as a selected guest to be upgraded to suite and receive complimentary snack in the pool restaurant (I suspected because my son wore an elf hat 😁), thanks you so much! On top of that because the next day was my birthday, the Guest Experience sent a birthday cake to our room, another nice surprise! Aside from the perks, I think Melia can turn into a family staycation destination as it has nice ambience, food and staffs are so friendly, by perhaps add few more children attraction. All in all, lovely stay ♥️

United States of AmericaThere was an issue with some of the food ordered in the lobby lounge which was quickly addressed by management. There were a lot of conferences being held on-site and many of the attendees were smoking in the side rooms making the first-floor corridors and the lounge area smell like smoke. The small cafe on the ground level was unable to charge back to our room so we needed to pay cash for some items we purchased there. There are very few options to purchase needed items such as feminine hygiene products or basic toiletries at or near the property.
So, this is my second review of this property as we stayed here twice during our time in Jakarta. Both times we found the staff to be very attentive to our needs. When we traveled to the Airport on our last day, they packed breakfast to-go because we left so early in the morning. This hotel is in a great location and easy to access from the main highways in Jakarta. Our room was spacious and clean, with a wonderful view of South Jakarta. The food choices in the lobby restaurant were vast offering Asian, Western, and European menu items. Our coffee cups were always full and there were multiple juice choices as well. The one thing that was especially impressive was the response to our criticisms from the first stay at the property. We were contacted by both the housekeeping supervisor and General Manager with regard to our observations. They expressed genuine concern for our complaints and made every effort to rectify these issues. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a location where you are their first priority.

United States of AmericaSo, the few things we felt could improve are as follows: - Several items from the kitchen seemed to be undercooked and poorly prepared. My wife is a personal chef and found that the bubur was watery, nasi uduk was undercooked and nasi goreng from the lounge was not fresh. She stated that it tasted like it may have been made earlier in the day and reheated. -As an Operation Manager, I felt the facility is showing its age. Some of the hallways were dank with a faint smell of mildew. There were tiles missing in the pool, the bathroom had dirty corners, the grout between tiles was missing, paint in the hallway was smug and a little dirty. All of the fore-mentioned items are easily correctable with maintenance and upkeep.
First and foremost, my wife and I agree that the staff here was very pleasant. They were always welcoming and knew me by name. While we didn't utilize the spa services, we did enjoy room service, swam in the pool, and exercised in the fitness center. Our overall experience was great, we would definitely consider staying again in the future.
