Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It is in the centre of the city. Walking distance with Medan Railway station. The breakfast was good too.

BelgiumMake sure that you do not arrive or leave on a Sunday. Sunday is car free day and in my case there was a tremendous amount of noise under the window, starting at 6am. Also, taxis could not reach the hotel. Staff is friendly but a little bit slow. I find the hotel slightly overpriced for Medan.
Nice room with comfortable beds Location is good, close to train station The Indonesian breakfast is decent; nothing too special but not bad either

AustraliaThis is a good place, but right now, with all the construction going on around it, it's not the place for us. There isn't really any soundproofing for the rooms. We didn't really mind the construction noise or the intense traffic or the loud ac as it worked together to make a kind of constant white noise. We rather liked the call to mecca sounding out throughout the day. But we decided to move on after being woken by the loudest aerobics class known to man at 6:45am. I can't even get the TV in the room as loud as that class was. The photos online were definitely taken a few years ago. Don't expect that level of fresh. The ac is still working but does look and sound like it has seen better days. I would have loved a fridge or water station, but these are rare to find in this price bracket.
Good location if you're planning to catch another flight out and don't want to pay for a taxi. Your easy walking distance to the train, malls, and some other heritage sights. This is a heritage building in itself, too, which is cool. Across the Rd is the original post office. Now, it has the post office and a few pop-up shops and cafes that are very trendy and delicious. The room service and restaurant are very tasty though it is impossible to work out how long it will take to come so don't expect fast. All the staff were lovely but English is definitely not something you should expect. If you're staying in medan, download a translation ap or give learning Indonesian a try. The views from the room were good city scapes. Shower had wonderful pressure and was hot.

United KingdomThe hotel would benefit from some updating to make it better value for money - the curtains etc. were a bit grimy.
Grand Inna Medan is in an excellent location for access to Medan, has spacious rooms and is fairly clean. The pool is very pleasant. The old colonial bit of the building is quite pretty If you need laundry doing, Rakyat laundry is much cheaper than the hotel and is just around the corner.

AustraliaThat reception staff had limited English although they were really trying to help.
Location was perfect - close to the train station and very convenient for us. Breakfast buffet was nice but we would have loved to know more about what we were eating as no one seemed to speak much English. Pool staff were super friendly and the saltwater pool was nice to swim in and the temperature perfect. A few more plants and deck chair seating would have been nice.

AustraliaThe hot water pressure in my room wasn’t the best but it isn’t a deal breaker still was able to have a warm shower comfortably.
Staff were very nice from the moment to arrive. Had someone bring your luggage and take you up to your room. The pool area is very nice, with the train station and shopping malls close by.

AustraliaReservation/Check out staff were very slow in responding and finalizing the request/work. You had to chase them for answers. They expected each other to do the job. Couldn’t be bothered to move at speed. Surely it isn’t the culture.
Right in the city, good view, tried their best to accommodate guest’s needs to make their stay comfortable.
