Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyQuantity and variety of food very poor. They asked 800k to go to Waisai (about 1 hour sailing so is a quiet good price if you share it) and 400k to be picket up in another homestay in Kri (about 3 minutes sailing) that was way too much!!
Stunning location!!

United KingdomJunior homestay was great at providing last minute day trips and transfers, staff were very accomodating to our requests. As expected the homestay was super simple. The views from each bungalow were to die for.

GermanyCommunication with the staff was difficult due to the language barrier. They didn’t speak any English. We had one of the more distant bungalows and the WiFi signal couldn’t quite reach there. The food in general was good, but the breakfast was a bit simple with only toast and condiments.
We had to move to Junior Homestay for our last night because our previous bungalows on Mansaur were booked out. What we very much appreciated about junior homestay was the proximity to Soul Scuba dive shop. The walking distance was 5 minutes and we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets over there. The next morning at 7 am junior homestay brought us back with their boat to wasai so we could catch the ferry at 9 am back Sorong. That was very convenient. All in all a decent place to stay

GermanyCommunication with the "staff"/family running the homestay is basic, but sufficient. The trash on the nearby beach. The mattress was a bit soft for my taste
Nice place. A bit away from the more busy part of Kri Island, but not too far away from the logistically important part. Therefore recommended for couples or people, who seek a nice place for themselves, rather than a place to meet a lot of new people. Good and clean facilities, especially compared to the other homestays. You can buy soft drinks and beer, if you want.

United KingdomLovely quiet homestay consisting of 3 water bungalows about 100 meters walk along the beach to the dive shop. Nice sized bungalow, clean toilet and washing area with path to keep clean after washing, nice eating area and nice simple food. Although there is a slight language barrier the owner Halfred will do everything he can to help you to ensure you have a happy stay. Compared to other homestays the toilet and washing area are the best I’ve had in raja and I would definitely stay here again.

AustraliaA bit more information about the local features might have helped. For example, the reef is quite far out but easily accessible from the end of the pier at the dive school. Host family lent a snorkel so that was nice. Tidying up the rubbish washed onto the beach would have made it more homely.
Exceptional location, very close to the dive school. Friendly staff although translating things into Indonesian on your phone might help you get what you need. Yummy food and AMAZING views. The hammocks are a nice touch and the availability of power from the generator a bit longer than I thought would happen was much appreciated.

SingaporeBed wasn't the best and room a bit dark.
View made the most spectacular from the different places we went. You are really close to dive center (Soul) - 100% recommended and amazing sunsets. It's nice to go up the hill to do the hike to the peak. The meals are served together at the dinning area for all the guests.

South AfricaA few small housekeeping things like emptying the bin from the last people before I arrived. More toilet paper in the bathrooms. Nothing bad, just a little more attention to detail
The staff were super lovely. The food was delicious. The rooms were very cool over the water. There is a large patch of sand infront of the bungalows, which makes the water in high tide look so clear and gorgeous.

SwitzerlandBe prepared to communicate with a translator in hand unless your Indonesian is at a conversational level. Good value for money compared to the other homestays, although I still struggle to understand where all this money goes. Not in the infrastructure of the island or Raja Ampat for sure...
Excellent quiet location with your own turquoise reef lagoon with baby sharks right at the doorstep. Delicious food by Apet's family. Phenomenal sunsets from the bungalows. Some of the best snorkelling of our lifetimes right from the bungalow.

FranceThe materas was curved so we just bump into each other during the night, facilities were quite dirty, the food wasn’t exceptional, fish quantity wasn’t enough at all, fruits didn’t taste well, and finally, we receive a very cold welcome when we arrived, just a « the lunch is served and your bungalow is the 5th one » and bye, and it was like that the whole week, never a smile, a kind gesture or a quick talk. Compared to the other homestay we did on the same island, it doesn’t deserve such a high ranking.
Great location near the diving center, bungalows all face the sea, the dining room is great.

AustraliaLocated just outside of the Kri island 'hub', junior homestay is a short walk to the dive shop and a long jetty for getting out to the drop off for low tide snorkelling. At high tide there is a great reef directly out from the homestay. Like most homestays on Kri, they are growing, currently there are four bungalows and soon to be 6. The owner Habel is quiet and unassuming, he'll help you organise whatever you need, but you may be better off messaging him on WhatsApp or booking.com as this allows him to use google translate (he's very happy with this). Rubin is the primary staff member we interacted with, he and his brother work there and are originally from batang, very friendly and bringing afternoon coconuts if you ask! Food was really good, always multiple protein options and a bit of variety in what was provided. Noting that meals still mostly align with the local options! Each bungalow has a great outlook and a hammock!

ItalyGreat location, house reef simply amazing, sunset view, away from the crowd at the sandy end of the island yet easily accessible by walking. There are 3 bungalows - clean and well kept, toilets very clean and nearby. Junior and his family can take you to very nice day-trips and know all the best spots for manta sighting, snorkelling and walks in the jungle. If interested in diving they can help with diving center arrangements too. Highly recommended!!
