How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewSuch a nice family with a beautiful home! The room I had was spacious, functional and clean just like the bathroom. I ate at their Warung and it was tasty! I couldn’t get enough of the view and the small gazebo overlooking the rice fields !

Verified reviewA great value for the price. The family welcoming atmosphere and the amazing location overseeing the rice fields.
It was quiet and peaceful at night. However the motorbikes noise during the day was annoying, I have sound sensory issues and the home is too close to the road.
We apologize for our shortcomings, Mr. Hadi, it is indeed a bit noisy. That is why we have added other facilities in the room, such as air conditioning, hot water, and a gazebo above so that it is possible for friends.

Verified reviewLoved to stay here, Tiger was a great host. It was nice that you can order some food if you like, not the best food I had in Bali but good enough for me. Also the sitting place they have on the second floor is amazing, every morning I was sitting here and meditate. Loved it!
Unfortunately, the room is not of the best quality. But for the good price I paid, I was not expecting a lot. There is some mold on the walls and the room doesn't smell too nice because of it, but it is rainy season..... Also, the water pressure is not good so keep that in mind. When you would like to wash your hair it will take some time.

Verified reviewWe were greeted by the warmest and sweetest family ever. They helped us with everything we needed, from scooter rental to transfers, with a big smile. The room was big and super clean, the AC work properly and there's hot water for the shower. Warmly recommended!!
Nothing, everything was perfect!

Verified reviewReally beautiful homestay, very friendly and helpful hosts (helped me with booking a rafting tour and organised the transport), very clean and nice rooms with modern A/C. You have the option to have good breakfast and lunch/dinner at the homestay, but there are also a few amazing local warungs nearby. The homestay is outside the centre of Sidemen, but next to the rice fields, so it's quite calm and idyllic there.

Verified reviewThe food at the attached Warung was beautiful. The views were outstanding. The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. It was truly a great experience staying there.
I think my brother's room didn't have any plug sockets! And the bathrooms were quite basic, but these are very minor complaints it was really exceptional value for money and in such a gorgeous and peaceful setting. By far my Bali highlight.

Verified reviewTwo minutes to the rice field tracking; nice views; we had two rooms, one room had a great and comfortable bed, the other one was terrible. Hosts can help organize activities. Welcome drink is cute but would certainly had preferred the provision of drinking water.
No drinking water/refill provided, forced to buy plastic bottles; no breakfast included in the quite expensive price either - felt too much like trying to make money out of everything possible. Our rooms were not made up during our 2 days at all. I’m not sure how this place got such a great rating. The family is nice, but not nicer than any other Indonesian family operating a homestay. For the same price you can find better places to stay at and I wouldn’t go back there.

Verified reviewAbsolutely adored this homestay! One of my faves in Bali so far. Khailash and his family Are adorable, super helpful and accommodating. The location is right next to the Sidemen rice field walk. A perfect way to start or end the day. Also the view from the rooftop is mindblowing. Food at the property is delicious! you can also rent a very inexpensive scooter. Great value for money considering that it costs like a bed in a dorm but you have a whole little room for you. I’m already recommending it to other backpackers
Nothing

Verified reviewThis was a perfect stay in Sidemen! The host family was super kind and welcoming. They even let us borrow traditional Balinese clothing so we could attend a ceremony. The little warung on site is affordable and yummy. The bed was comfortable and our room was clean and spacious. The garden was beautiful too. We 100% recommend this homestay in Sidemen!
Everything was great.

Verified reviewIt is a minute walk to the rice paddies. I liked the view on top and the welcoming. I arrived really early and they made sure the room was ready soon. The bed was good. Staff was really friendly and helpfully.
The shower head is mounted next to the bathtub. They should replace it a bit to the right

Verified reviewClean and spacious room. AC worked well and a mosquito net was present. Overall very enjoyable stay. Very good location, right in the Sidemen rice fields.
Some noise from the passing scooters, though nothing the property can do anything about!

Verified reviewThe restaurant and the rice field view of this homestay is incredible. I highly recommend to test there food. The rooms are cleaned and confortable, only 4 rooms in the homestays so it's quite calm. The location is perfect for walking in the rice field.
The sound insulation could be better, we can here the people talking from the house beside.
