How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewThe space of the rooms where massive and the beds the same, the pool and location was amazing.
The bathrooms where very disappointing with very lower water pressure, one of the showers didn’t have hot water, on asking it to be repaired that night at 2am a water pipe in the wall burst and flooded the room.

Verified reviewThe pool and location was amazing, super comfortable. Anything we needed they provided for us. The location was great, close to everything and tucked away. The decor was beautiful.
The only downside to the property was the water temperature in the shower, but once we spoke to them about they had someone come fix it right away!

Verified reviewThis is not what you expect. We were greeted with a mould infestation in the villa. The downstairs rooms looks great but so much mould. The inside/upstairs had a stench so bad that we couldn’t handle it and left after 1 night. The kitchen sink was not useable as the pipe went to nothing and would flood the entire kitchen. The pool was very murky and seemed to not be cleaned and ants were everywhere and all through our belongings.

There was a clog in the sink due to the previous guest flushing down materials that should have been disposed in the trash instead of the sink. Regarding your claim of mold infestation; due to the heavy rain that was happening consistently before your stay, there were areas where water seeped in and made stains on the walls. We have called in a professional mold removal company just to make sure that our villa is safe for our guests. The result of their investigation was that they did not find any sign of mold. So that was a big relief. We truly apologize for the issues that occurred during your stay. Again, we thank you for choosing us.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay at Lakita Villas Seminyak! The villa was extremely comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, making it a relaxing place to unwind. The location was excellent, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beach, yet still peaceful and private. The staff were wonderful—friendly, responsive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The bedrooms were all equipped with good air conditioning, which made for a comfortable night's sleep. However, the living area could benefit from air conditioning as it got quite warm, meaning if we were not in the pool we often retreated to the bedrooms to cool off.

Verified reviewThe villa was in a great position set back from the street but close to everything The villa was clean and comfortable and spaced out welll for an adult family We were given our privacy but Arye the manager was quick to respond to our messages and very helpful. There were a lot of great food and shopping options close by.

Verified reviewThe location of these villas were superb. I must say, we stayed in the middle villa, and it was not the villa pictured in our booking whatsoever. To meet expectations, I suggest the villas are individually identified so you know which one you're booking. The main door to the downstairs main living area also didn't close/lock which left us feeling a little vulnerable . Otherwise, housekeeping was lovely, the hosts/contact person on site was always extremely friendly and accomodating.
The door not being able to be locked. Be aware the hostel next door on a Fri night does have some type of party and it goes well beyond 10 pm.... its extremely loud if you go to bed early.
