How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewEverything was absolutely perfect – from the extremely good and varied food to the great attention to every detail. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, and the dive center was highly professional. Every evening there was a briefing with the staff and other guests to plan the excursions for the following day, always with great care to meet everyone’s needs. We truly hope to come back soon – thank you for everything!

Verified reviewI cannot say enough good things about Nyande. It is literally a paradise. We stayed in the sunset overwater villa and it really was one of the most stunning places I have ever visited. We did a few dive excursions with their in house dive shop and my husband did his very first scuba dive. We were looked after so well by the dive instructor. And saw some truly magical things. The diving in Raja Ampat is the best I’ve ever experienced. The food at Nyande there is tasty and fresh, the WiFi works great and everything is kept super clean considering you’re in the jungle! But the main asset is their wonderful staff. So friendly and accommodating. Nyande has a gorgeous house reef with turtles, lion fish and rays. We even saw a leopard shark swim right up to our villa one day. It was a trip we will never forget and we’re planning to revisit in Manta season.
These aren’t things we didn’t like. We LOVED Nyande but flagging a couple of things just to inform other travellers. I like to have a drink after a long day diving, while watching the sunset. I hate beer! The only alcohol they sell at Nyande is beer (due to import costs, I get it!). Luckily I checked with Andy the owner before I went and I packed a couple of bottles of rum. They sell cans of soft drink and they have ice, so you’re all set for everything else. Just a heads up! Nyande is an eco lodge and run sustainably from solar power. As such, the showers aren’t heated and while the rooms have a fan, there isn’t air con. This made absolutely no difference to our enjoyment, even if we were a bit warm a couple of nights, everything was made better again by diving off the jetty into the perfect water. But if you’re a Princess and these things matter, maybe Raja Ampat is a bit too remote for you!

Verified reviewWe stayed for 3 nights in the overwater bungalow and they are truly magical! We moved to the land based after as the overwater were fully booked. We stayed in 4 different homestays in Raja, and Nyande was our favorite. Location is great, lots to do on the island itself as well as all the trips they can organize. The house reef is in great condition with excellent snorkeling! Food was very good, good variety and good portions! The overwater bungalow is very nice, the views are incredible, the bed is very comfortable and we appreciated that all the linens were from cotton! There is also a shower to rinse off after you get out of the sea. We also very much appreciated the waste management at Nyande. They pack all their trash and bring it to Wasai. What happens in Wasai is probably a different problem, however at least the trash is off the smaller islands. We saw huge trash piles behind some of the other homestays and it is truly heartbreaking. Andy and Esni are lovely, as well as all other staff members! We went on a few trips with them and the boat is in good condition, and safety outside and inside the water was a priority.
Bathroom (a nice bathroom!) is a bit far away from the overwater bungalow. Wasn't really a problem for us but worth mentioning in case this is important to others.

Verified reviewBeautiful sea view rooms with attention to detail. Excellent housereef with shark, turtle spottings (to name a few). The food served was delicious and hosts accommodating to our needs. We loved the fact that it felt exclusive (only 6 rooms), so it's nice, quiet, and peaceful. Will definitely return to this dreamy place.
Wish there was hot water.

Verified reviewAndy, one of the managers, gave me a warm welcome. He was daily asking and ensuring all is working well. He gave us good advices and showed us several fantastic fotos of the fauna. The homestay is beautiful and cosy with not too many people, what I much appreciated. The food was delicious and the bed very comfortable. The personal was very friendly and sympathic. Every evening after supper they coordinate your next day snorkling or diving trip and ensure all your wishes are taken into account. At this point a thank you to Freddy the dive instructor who did make you feel comfortable and safe going diving with him. The house reef is stunning and my friend even spotted a dugong. The very friendly dogs will join you for a walk if Andy tell them to they will take care of your belongings while you're snorkling. Afterwards guide you back to the homestay. That was fantastic and impressive. Thank you all for your efforts and these beautiful stay with you. I can recommend this homestay to everyone.
No warm water in the shower.

Verified reviewI had an amazing stay in Nyande Resort! Arriving here feels like paradise, the water from the rack is so clear you can see the reef & fish even from here. The owner & the stuff made me feel very welcomed and they help you organising dive or snorkel trips for the next day. I went diving on one day which was really nice. You can also rent a snorkel and explore the house reef, which is already very beautiful. I really loved the bungalow and hammock. Food was also delicious. Highly recommend staying here :) Thanks so much for everything!

Verified reviewStayed in the overwater and beach bungalows, spectacular views on all sides from sunrise to sunset. Comfortable and clean rooms, tasty and substantial meals, only place (out of 5) where we stayed with 24 hr electricity and wifi. Diving with guide Julio was excellent, he was great at finding small creatures and very relaxed. No boat surcharges for sites within 30 mins of Nyande, night dives on home reef. Home reef and surrounding reef flat with good reef and plenty to see, multiple walking sharks foraging in the sand around the boardwalk. Staff all very welcoming and helpful getting us to Waisai and onto ferry for Sorong.

Verified review- beautiful location, peaceful place - the reef along the jetty is full of life, we saw a ton of different fish and turtles - the food is very diverse (a mix of Indonesian and western) - the staff is amazing
The “sales” aspect can feel a little pushy when it comes to booking Snorkeling trips, we sometimes felt a little nudged. (The day trips are really great nonetheless)

Verified reviewIt was the closest we have ever been to paradise. Andy and Esni are two amazing owners who make sure your stay is perfect how you like it. Their new dive shop is very professional and Roy and Julio are amazing dive guides. The breakfast containing eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes and fruits is super high in Raja Ampat standards. The other meals are also super fresh and tasty, and in 6nights we never ate the same. The rooms are idyllic and it is so peaceful over there. The dogs are super kind and joined us on our hikes to Sawandarek and Yenbuba. We were sad to leave, would love to come back one day!
We were charged 300k for a transfer from Kri to Mansuar while we just joined a boat who passed Kri when coming back from a snorkeling trip. Whilst we did not really like this, it is a small detail in a perfect stay.

Verified reviewClean and modern place with scenic views. Food is really good and comes in large portions. Location is strategic to make main tours like Piaynemo, Kri, Rufas, Arborek and other islands. Staff is friendly and owners are honest, serious people. Pick-up at Waisai was punctual, no delays. 24h electricity and starlink Wi-Fi makes this stunning place the best option in Raja Ampat
Nothing really. Maybe lights inside room could be a little bit stronger

Verified reviewI have such mixed review for this place, it was the most expensive place we stayed but definitely wasn’t not the best. The bathrooms are amazing, like being in an actual hotel. The room itself was nothing special, the only time you’re getting that is if you book the two front ones. We stayed in manta ray and it was standard at best, too small if anything. The cushioned chairs outside were a luxury but the only setting on them was ‘lie down’ which was odd. The view was obviously stunning and the reef in front was great. Plenty of batfish, lion fish and clams around the jetty.
So I have to say the food was amazing, The dinner we had was flavorful and they provide ALL of the condiments which is rare in Raja. However after being told by Andy that ‘we have bacon and eggs for breakfast’ we were so excited, after almost 3 weeks of doughnuts, my partner is gluten free and most people don’t cater for that, so he’d had no breakfast for our trip, we got to breakfast at 7:20, not late in my opinion… no breakfast left. Just pancakes. They gave him GF pancakes which was lovely, but one of the selling points of this place is the western spin on the breakfast. Basically…. Be ready to fight for the good food they provide. They don’t serve enough of it or the people who stay here aren’t polite enough to consider other guests. There was no apology for this and we were basically ignored during our whole stay, we wanted to go on a trip but were ignored, we checked out, ignored. Probably 1 night guests aren’t important to them, but as a hotelier myself this is where they go wrong, the service doesn’t match the place.

Verified reviewNyande is a wonderful eco resort in a magical setting. We stayed in the overwater bungalow and we greatly enjoyed looking at the fish and turtles swim by our deck. The house reef has plenty of fish and it is great for snorkelling. I cannot thank enough Esne for being such an excellent guide on each snorkelling outing. Every day a different tour . All very well organised and giving us the chance of seeing different things. Esne even contacted a friend to make sure that he could call a taxi for us once we arrived back at the harbour in Sorong. So kind! Thank you Esne!!! Also, All the staff was very friendly and helpful! A wonderful atmosphere in a very unspoilt location whilst being conveniently located to do lots of different tours . Thanks again! Highly recommended

Verified reviewAbsolutely incredible location on Mansuar island. Beautiful sea and water bungalows. Highlight was being able to snorkel off the jetty around an amazing reef with plenty of coral and fish. The food was fabulous and I was very well catered for as a vegetarian. The showers and toilets are very clean and nice. Lovely and friendly staff. Andy is a relaxed but attentive host and we were extremely happy with the service. We will never forget arriving at Nyande and how special it is.
