How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewNature, sea and quietness. Excellent service and kind staff. The beach is right in front of the villas and bungalows. One part of the beach is a reef full of marine life, fish and colourful corals. Lots of other islands around to visit with a kayak or a boat.

Verified reviewVery beautiful, quiet and serene location. Loved the staff and the property layout. Have a beautiful house reef if you don’t want to go to other places for snorkelling.
Rooms can have a bit more lighting at night.

Verified reviewThe location is amazing, right in front of the coral reef. Food too, very tasty considering you are in an almost desert island. We saw the other resorts walking through the island and, for us, this is the best one, not pretending to be a luxury place. Shower under the stars is priceless. I had the best body massage of my life
In the room there were many bugs (but of course we have to consider we are in the middle of nowhere) and there were some stains on the textiles around the bed. Anyway, overall was clean. Be sure to bring with yourself whatever you need in case of emergency, our thermometer was not working, my boyfriend got high fewer and they didn’t have one in their emergency kit. Anyway they were very efficient in helping us.

Verified reviewMany things we liked. The unique location, the beauty of the accommodations, the activities organized by the resort, the attention for the environment and for coral life, the amazing front beach ideal for snorkeling, the politeness of the staff. We also enjoyed our walks on the beach (there is a local village about 15 mins walk from the resort). The personnel do their best to make you have a great experience at pearl beach.
The quality of food served at the restaurant has room for improvement. If it wasn't for this aspect, I would have rated this hotel 10/10.

Verified reviewBeautiful rooms with semi-open bathrooms. You are right next to a rich coral area. The staff are absolutely wonderful always friendly If you walk for 15min you will find local warungs
It lacked soul as it is quite removed from the local area and it feels like a secluded place for Europeans. The contrast between the resort and the local village is stark

Verified reviewIsland //amazing coral reef // friendly staff //big & beautiful resort territory with hamacks to chill // free unlimited drinkable water
Our villa 15 had the furthest location close to the jungle. Even though it was big and private, it was also gloomy. The villa is old and has a lot of slits under the doors, so we had plenty insects visiting us. Including cockroaches and massive spiders in our bedroom. The food at the resort was mediocre, the coffee is horrible. They should have at least 1 coffee machine. If you are a coffee lover, there is an Italian restaurant in 10 mins walking distance with great barista

Verified reviewPeaceful, close to reef for snorkelling, spacious gardens and places to sit next to the beach including a treehouse. Our bungalow was beautiful- thatched roof and fabulous timber work and relaxing outdoor bathroom. Food was fine - more like home cooking. Boats were well arranged from the mainland and to Gili Gede. They look after the environment taking conservation seriously including regrowth and protection of the reef.
Sometimes the food was a bit bland so we always asked for sambal! But everything else was wonderful

Verified reviewThe surroundings were even better than I imagined. The garden area is spacious, beautiful, and well maintained. The beach loungers are very comfortable, and the reef is stunning and in excellent condition. My compliments! Staff is also lovely!
Although the exterior of the villas is very beautiful, the interior needs some maintenance. We found the ‘boat’ shelf broken, as well as the wardrobe handle and the bathroom door bolt. I missed having truly functional space to store clothes — we had to open our suitcase on the floor every time and close it again after. One luggage rack per guest would be perfect. As for the restaurant food… I think it could be improved.

Verified reviewStaff, location, just enough activities. The eco attitude of the resort. We were one with nature. Not for spoiled turists who expect refrigirator in the room, but definitely for nature lovers.
All was great. It would be more effective to change the AC position.

Not their fault, as there was space under our door in thr family bungalow, but we had a bunch of centipedes in our room which freaked our daughter out.
