Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaLike pretty much all home stays, there is no hot water. If you are looking for beach front this is not it but, frankly, I was out on the water all day so didn’t need beach front.
The rooms are a good size, comfortable and have air conditioning and running water. Limitless coffee, tea, cold water and yummy breakfast included. Husna is the real draw card here. She is a wonderful hostess with amazing knowledge and connections across the islands. She and her husband Eddy are absolute treasures and they looked out for me as a kind female traveller.

CanadaHusna is an amazing host. She helped us organize drivers, a tour to Kalibiru, motorbikes for rent to visit the nearby village and even connected us with a local contact at the village to show us around. The breakfasts she offered were a delicious variety. Wifi works well. The bedroom has AC. Relatively quiet and everything is accessible, you can walk to the nearby restaurants and Indomaret. Drinking water, tea and coffee always available. Husna gave us great recommendations and when we returned to Waisai for an overnight stay, she helped us coordinate a stay as she was fully booked. Highly recommend for an overnight stop or for a few days to explore Waisai, thank you so much Husna!

United StatesNothing negitive to report.i have already booked my second stay.
The owners were extremely helpful with organizing trips, answering questions, giving advice on places to stay. The breakfasts were always delicious and varied. They were very knowledgable about the region and were well connected. They arrainged a good scooter at a fair price. A great first landing spot off of the ferry from Sorong. I have already booked my second stay when back from the outer islands to prepare for the return ferry trip. International travelers will be happy here.

CanadaHusna is a very friendly and knowledgeable host, her guesthouse was a perfect place for a few days for us to visit Kalibiru, scuba dive and ride scooters to the nearby village. Husna helped us coordinate all of our activities including renting motorbikes and made excellent suggestions for nearby restaurants. Her breakfasts are delicious, AC is in the bedroom only and worked well, wifi available, and she even delivered umbrellas to us at a nearby restaurant during a rainstorm! Highly recommend staying at Sandy Guesthouse if you are in Waisai.

Eddy and Ushna are super caring, friendly and helpful. They arranged all the sightseeing tours for us; breakfast was delicious; they also helped us with local restaurant info and bank info. I got sick during our stay and Ushna took us to local hospital for treatment. I have not met a better hostess before. Thank you!

Ibu Husna is a fantastic woman. She has a very good command of the English language and was helpful in everything when we needed advice. She arranged for us to rent 2 scooters. After a short ride, one scooter showed broken brakes and completely flat tires. It was replaced with another one and it was already fine - so we recommend checking on the spot, which was my mistake. Drinking water, coffee and tea were available throughout the day. Breakfast was ok. The rooms are very simple, but enough for a night's sleep. The air conditioning worked fine. The homestay is a bit tucked away from the main road so we wandered around. We also used the pick up from/to the port - thanks to Ibu Husna

IcelandFor this price it is hard to complain about anything but there was quite a loud bird just outside the window. And there is no view from the apartment.
Very very generous and tasty breakfast. By far the best of any homestay breakfasts we had in Raja Ampat. Very ambitious.

AustriaThere were mosquito nets infront of windows. But seems like there were some holes in it, or maybe they entered while cleening the room. However, there were a looooot of mosquitos in a room, so we spend some time before going to bed to kill most of them.
Husna is super friendly and carrying. She organized a scooter, ferry tickets and lundry within just a view minutes. The rooms are super clean and beds are comfortable. They are basic, but keep in mind that you are in a tropical island- for us the roomequiment was sufficient and clean. Breakfast was also delicious (Omlettes, toast with differents spreads, fruits, and baked bananas.) 100% recommended!

AustraliaCrisp air con, privacy - our own ensuite and living area. Husna has exceptionally good English and owing to her other job with the tourism board she is very well informed if you have questions about things to do and places to travel (she has also been to many of them herself). For my trip to misool, Husna went out of her way to book the series of ferry's we had to take as well as our first homestay.

Not only did the accommodation exceed our expectations, our host also went above and beyond to ensure our stay in the area everything we wanted it to be. I can honestly say our time there wouldn’t have been half as good if it wasn’t for Husna, she knew all the right people across the region. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, so much so I wouldn’t bother searching for any other accommodation when I eventually return.

FranceIf you come and stay at Sandy Guest House, it would be to experience a human encounter. The owner is kind, joyful and attentive. She treats you like a person/friend/guest. If you have any request, she is resourceful, with contacts and keeps your best interest at heart. She is a very good diver and gave me my first snorkeling lesson, which was fantastic. The property is of Indonesian standard, has air con and wifi. You will also find a set of free toiletries. I have to insist on the owner being a treasure. Even after I left, the boat to Sorong had a technical problem, had to go back to Waisai to change ships, she managed to get my boarding pass printed and available at Sorong's airport for easy pickup without delay. Got well in time to departure lounge, in the end the flight got also delayed 🙃. Lots of love to the owner, unforgettable and memorable moments spent at Sandy Guest House 💖.
