How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewThe hotel offers a beautiful atmosphere combined with excellent service and attentive staff. Staying at the cliff provides a luxurious experience, highlighted by a special check-in lounge and an exclusive breakfast buffet area. Guests can also enjoy complimentary cocktails in the evenings, as well as unlimited coffee and drinks throughout the day, accompanied by canapés at 6 PM. They demonstrated great care in catering to families, as they were able to provide all necessary amenities for a newborn baby, ensuring a comfortable stay. A special mention goes to Wira, a staff member from the Cliff Lounge, who consistently displayed kindness and courtesy during our visit. Overall, the experience was remarkable, with a few minor areas for improvement to enhance guest satisfaction even further.
The beach experience left much to be desired. While the sands were clean, it didn't quite match what I expected from a Bali beach. I had arranged an 8-course lunch at Koral to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Although I made the reservation weeks in advance, I was a bit disappointed that we were not seated next to the aquarium, despite my repeated requests. It seemed that other non-staying guests were prioritized for those prime seats, which was surprising considering our status as staying guests. We opted for the Zen experience, the most premium menu available with wine pairing, yet those who ordered ala carte were again given the preferred seating. I recognize this may come off as minor, but when investing in a top-tier experience, I naturally expect a certain level of service. That said, I have no complaints about the food or service; the sommelier was exceptional and the food itself was truly delightful.

Verified reviewSo stunning! The resort is huge and there is so much to explore during your stay. Restaurants are incredible, the beach front is lovely and the pool was beautiful! The 24/7 support and services catered to every need immediately. They also had a departure lounge to shower and relax before a flight for people who have already checked out. One of the best 5 star hotels I have experienced! Ask them about the floor in the reception, very interesting story!
The hotel is huge and the elevators can be confusing especially if you’re only there for 1-3 days. The Koral restaurant, spa and activities require bookings in advance since they are usually fully booked. Difficult to just walk-in for some popular choices. Food was more expensive than the standard in Bali, but definitely worth it!

We celebrated my birthday there, went to Koral restaurant for fine dining, and when we came back to our room, we found a very cute elephant towel and flowers with message card. Later, the staff brought a birthday cake to our room. The service is definitely the top level we’ve ever experienced.

I felt the food wasn’t up to the usual high end restaurant standards and service was pretty poor apart from the Koral restaurant, I think it could be improved considering the resort itself providing a luxury feel. I also felt the massage I received wasn’t the best I had and again for the price and place you would expect the best only! I had my best massage from a young lady called Dephan at Zahra spa uluwatu and feel she should be employed here!

Verified reviewWe loved this hotel. It is beautiful in every way. The people are so lovely and really take pride in what they do. They go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Rooms are so big and very pretty. Bathrooms are huge.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa. if I had known it was so far from the pool I would have booked the jnr cliff ocean view suites instead. You are located right up near the road. You have to walk out past the car drop off section and through the lobby which is massive to get to the lifts to take you down. It's a long way. Also, we ate at Koral but was a little underwhelming. The food looks nice but they are trying too hard to be fancy, they didn't execute it very well and taste was lacking.
