How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

In this place we couldn't find a thing to improve for the value paid, the best accomodation during our Bali trip. The only thing I could find is that the clothes we sent to wash came back with stains and not smelling well but it is acceptable since we gave them wet after driving scooter in the rain.

We have checked to the laundry its happen due we receipt your cloths on wet that you put all together and mixed with your other color clothes. So unfortunately its happen before washed. The only thing we dislike is that it’s so busy these days that it’s hard to book ;)

Verified reviewWe loved our week-long stay in our bungalow. Very quiet, private & with beautifully tended gardens, & just a few steps to the beach. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, & were easily contactable via WhatsApp. Lovely breakfast served on our verandah each day, which you order via WhatsApp the day before. Amazing value for money, with a beautiful, clean, uncrowded beach on our doorstep & plenty of beachfront bars & restaurants to choose from. Very chilled, laid back vibe. Staff are able to organise any tours & transport for you, but we were happy mostly just relaxing & walking the short distance to the amazing snorkelling spots nearby.
Would be good if there was a ceiling fan on the verandah

Verified reviewThe beachfront location, superb landscape view, feels like having a private beach in your front yard, cleanliness, helpfull staff, affordable price, sun bed, nice garden inside the property.
Nothing for me, but good to know it has a narrow alley approx. 5-10m to access the parking site. However, we have no issues with that and considering the price to value ratio.

Verified reviewA beautiful big room with a huge terrace, all the furniture needed and more. The bathroom was big and new as well. All very comfortable and clean, with very friendly hosts and good breakfast. I could hear the waves while falling asleep.

Verified reviewOur stay at the BBQ guest house was exceptional. Our host, Kadek was the most gracious and friendly host we have ever had. He was so kind and made our stay comfortable as if we were at home. The villas location is right on the beach and the room was super comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing, and the fish bbq in the evening was the best meal we had in Bali so far. Kadek helped us arrange moor bikes, laundry and an amazing snorkel boat tour. We wish we could have stayed longer and would highly recommend staying here. Thank you and we hope to be back again someday!

Verified reviewThis is one of those places where they think of all of the little details to make your stay comfortable. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom are both spacious and clean. You have a stocked minibar and hot water. Love the day bed outside on the terrace to chill on. It is a lovely place and I only moved out as it was fully booked.
